They did.
They did.
It blows my mind that with all we know about the geometry, economics and psychology involved, free street parking exists in New York City, the densest and most space-confined city in the United States.
This would be a smart and evidence-based move by @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social @mayor.nyc.gov.
Showing up a little early or on time reads as polite and respectful to me, showing up an hour late without some unforeseen reason reads as rude and disrespectful. Rhode Island.
So pleased to read this! Suzerain is a marvellous game (and also if you follow me you are essentially guaranteed to enjoy it).
it is unusual to think about it this way, but Israel did overtly support Donald Trump after he attempted a coup against our government. insofar as there is democracy in this country, Israel is opposed to it.
The thing is, I do not think my views on 🇮🇱/🇵🇸 are particularly radical. I am fundamentally arguing for the official position of the US government since 1967. The only thing I am saying is that if you actually believe in what everybody says they believe in, you are required to take that seriously.
Well. He’s a list of actually credible defense people to follow I suppose.
there’s this weird view of israel where we treat it as this idealized thing, and Real Existing Israel is never dealt with. that needs to change. they can go be unseasoned serbia on their own dime
bibi is just descriptively correct and the next dem needs to just sever all ties with israel. defense, trade, all of it. even thinking on utterly cynical grounds: israeli political leadership and overall politics is overtly opposed to the american left-of-center project
It's probably this and everyone should read it.

Suddenly of possible interest:
"President Trump Cannot Legally Impose Tariffs Using Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974"
To amend the Constitution to allow that, you would need to win 2/3 of the Senate, 2/3 of the House of Representatives and also win control of 3/4, or 38 out of 50, of the states
Good luck
you're using your institutional authority to delete the civil rights of 340 million people and install Trump as a king? okay, the next president, if there is one, is changing the locks on the Court building. those are the rules that you people established
once again pointing out that Trump vs. US is a treasonous decision--the Supreme Court equivalent of January 6--and the justices who voted for it have forfeited any claim to legitimacy (or indeed due process) whatsoever
Anyone currently involved in federal immigration enforcement, every officer, every bureaucrat, every lawyer, every judge, is a member of the most evil group of people this country has seen since Reconstruction. Darkness personified, every one. Doing this to children is beyond depraved.
and like, racism obviously
there have been literally zero negative consequences to "mass immigration" there is nothing to control
voters only care about it because the only narrative on immigration that exists in the public sphere is "there's a border crisis"
really interesting to me how many professional political commentators have basically retconned the draconian immigration enforcement policies of Obama and Biden out of existence and have completely swallowed the right wing narrative of immigration enforcement
Writing about how important it is to have tough immigration enforcement while armed federal goons terrorize, abduct and kill innocent men, women and children is perverse beyond words. God willing the other shoe will drop and these people will know no peace for the rest of their lives.
When people read current writing on immigration a few decades from now, it'll hit the same as a reading the way people wrote about "the Jewish problem" in the 1930s. Just loads of well-educated and seemingly normal people accepting a monstrous normative frame as though it's natural.
if the civil rights movement was the second (or third) American Revolution we are living through its counterrevolution
Every single day the Senate caucus doesn't vote Schumer out of leadership is another piece of evidence that a) this norm is missing, and b) not having it is doing enormous damage
The reason Harris should fuck off into obscure retirement isn't that she's like, personally responsible for Trump 2. The reason is that the Democrats *need* to re-establish the norm that their leaders are held accountable when they suffer catastrophic defeats
if he considers his job to ignore more than three quarters of his voters in order to support a right-wing enemy, he should not be Democratic leader. he should not even be in Congress.
Having analyzed this frame by frame like the Zapruder film my verdict is the president did indeed have an Unidentified Ass Event at 0:34
this is a great excuse to expand the courts and has the benefit of being entirely true! we need more judges everywhere - more districts, more circuits, and certainly more at the Supreme Court
note to national Democrats: you can do this too when you have the majority
there is nothing stopping court expansion other than norms that have long since become obsolete in the face of a radical, out of control majority currently enabling a fascist lunatic
why is everyone debating the Biden DoJ's legal process
everyone relevant openly committed, suborned, or conspired to commit insurrection, which is punishable by death, on national TV. the moderate position should have been to arrest them immediately and shoot them later after a trial
At core this is my problem with every single "you need to learn to respect populist right voters" article: I do not, I consider their worldview subhuman and repulsive
