The Word
In case you missed it, there's a new Cosmic Tones Research Trio live EP just landed on Qobuz. Kelan Phil Cohran influence maybe more pronounced here, but it's beautiful all ways. www.qobuz.com/gb-en/magazi...
Just genuinely unsure what value, use, enjoyment etc I personally get from things like the O'Hagan piece. Obviously a lot of people feel differently.
The one that has been shared about once every three or four posts on my timeline this morning. www.lrb.co.uk/the-paper/v4...
Yes itβs a good essay. But i also find it frustrating that pieces like this often seem to exist mostly to reinforce the beliefs of an audience who already basically knows or assumes they know this stuff, rather than engage an audience that doesnβt (how the latter happens in 2026 ofc I wish I knew).
One more week in UK shops for this issue of @mojomagazine.bsky.social (two covers; one mag) - which means only seven more days to get a hold of our essential Miles Davis & Friends CD. In the words of Sarah Vaughan on there (via Rodgers & Hammerstein), It might as well be spring...

Still plenty to enjoy behind the inevitable. Watching Jan Christen cause a lot of chaos, potentially for his own team, could be fun this season.
Agree but I think VDP picks his fights and knows this one like Lombardia isnβt quite so suited to him.
Agree thatβs shit and I wish Eurosport was still there for us. But Iβm pretty sure the deal I got last year was quite a bit lower (maybe because I already had Sky Sports).
Just realised that the answer to my question is probably video games.
Yeah nuanced moral complexity of bad guys never seems something that audience would aspire to. I guess my question would be: where are they seeing the edits of Marvel and DC movies where the supervillains always win?
Whoβs going to win? You could say Pogβs form is unknowable while we know Seixas is hott. That UAE look flakier without Wellens and Narvaez. That the likes of Healy, Pidcock, Simmons and maybe Gregoire might keep taking wilder and wilder swings at him. But ultimately Pogβs going to win again, I guess
Just turn the volume down and play your Man Parrish records over the top, Rob.
Probably say this every year, but if you ever have the slightest inclination to try watching cycling on TV, absolutely the best place to start is with today's Strade Bianche race. And this year you get to watch the most exciting young rider in the world, whose name is genuinely pronounced Sex Ass.
The rest of the album doesn't quite match the description, but this single sure does.

Perfect, thank you!
Ha yeah that's a great record but maybe not quite the same kind.
Live shows are going to need those 20 minute 1977 Dead-style versions of Dancing In The Street.
Tell me about some more Southern Rock Disco albums.
Ha this is great. Been playing it all day.
Sturgill Simpson dropped his new Johnny Blue Skies album, Mutiny After Midnight, overnight. All the definitions of boogie.

Great compilation. Get it while you can.
Can confirm. Never want to see it again.
What's your favourite album cover? Doesn't have to be your favourite album, just a cover you ever get tired of looking at.
I made a playlist of the Autechre (electronic) and Shane Parish (acoustic) song versions juxtaposed.

All TV shows should embrace societal breakdown after 20+ seasons.
New White Fence is my favourite Tim Presley record in maybe a decade? First taste of Orange: whitefence.bandcamp.com/album/orange
I keep meaning to plug this Miles Davis CD that comes with the current issue of @mojomagazine.bsky.social. One of the greatest comps I've had the pleasure of sticking to the front of the mag.
