I reviewed 197,079 photos across 2,915 photoshoots (January 1996 β October 2025) to select 281 photos for my new coffee table book showcasing weather in the D.C. area.

I finished my "Seasons of 2025" photo comparison collage today at the Tidal Basin.
The tree I chose to photograph was one of the last trees at the Tidal Basin to produce fall foliage, so I had to wait until today to shoot it. It was worth the wait. @capitalweather.bsky.social

Sunrise this morning was drab and gray, but at least the tulips at the Netherlands Carillon added some color.
I'm happy to report that Stumpy II is alive and well at the Tidal Basin. The tree is located on the north side near the Japanese Lantern.
Sunrise this morning as the cherry blossoms reached peak bloom. The lack of wind allowed a timed expose to capture the blossoms without blurring.
