The #FCC is reviewing a proposal for space mirrors to blast sunlight at the earth at night.
Sounds awful.
Anyone who that been to the far north or tried to sleep under lights knows how disorienting 24h of light is.
Everybody gets insomnia.
It's also an ecological disaster machinery 1/

Trump did not announce a U.S. policy then walk it back. That is not what happened, and media presenting it that way does a disservice.
Trump said words he thought might appeal to his audience in the moment, with no connection to actual policy, then did that again with a different question/asker.

When Massachusetts passed a "millionaires tax" in 2023, conservatives claimed the rich would flee.
But two years later, they haven't β and MA has collected $5.7B for infrastructure and public education.
A reminder that positive change can still happen at the state level.

Live Nation settles US antitrust case
Live βNation Entertainment βhas βreached βa proposed β settlement βwith βthe U.S. Justice βDepartment, βaccording to βa β court hearing βon βMonday.
Instead of taking Live Nation-Ticketmaster to trial, Trump just let them off the hook.
The federal government had been building a case for years, and could have broken up the Live Nation-Ticketmaster monopoly.
But Trump just let them settle out of court.

When we talk about Baby Boomers not getting off the stage: In 1997, the US president was born in 1946.
In 2007, the US president was born in 1946.
In 2017, the US president was born in 1946.
And next year in 2027? The US president will have been born in 1946.

Take Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill" for instance. Republicans provided $150 billion more for the military, while at the same time taking food away from literal children and kicking 10 million people off their health insurance.
That was a choice. They prioritized war at the expense of food and health.

This is helpful to clarify! Boston has the same rules: City is responsible to clear near City properties, State does state (incl MBTA), & private owners responsible for sidewalks outside theirs. City workers (& seasonal contracts) clear our areas mostly with bobcats & snow blowers vs paid shoveling.

A map of Boston showing a snapshot of where the snow plows are, according to their GPS trackers. Many green circles and triangles representing the vehicles dot the map.
Weβre in the heart of the storm now until early afternoonβwinds gusting 50+ mph & snowfall at 2+ in/hr. Itβs impossible to keep roads clear under whiteout conditions, but we have 900+ plows & trucks out keeping roadways manageable until we can really clear once the snow slows. Stay in & stay safe!
