I'd close by saying it's weird, to see this kinda childish, contemptuous behavior from orgs like Bluesky or Tangled who you'd think want to attract users to their sites. But Jay doesn't really…seem to want you on this site. She seems to want the queers to go away without her having to make us leave.
The function of the waffles joke is an in-group signifier. Singal, Graber, and Oppiliappan are showing in-group solidarity; they're all in on a joke. The joke is they have institutional power, and you don't, and they feel contempt for you, that you still want to have opinions about how power's used.
So I'd like to show a demonstration of what this "waffles" thing is. Here's a conversation between *this site's* CEO, some random guy, and the cofounder of "Tangled", a GitHub clone built on top of Bluesky's protocol.

Media coverage of Trump-Epstein is about how his base is responding, not about potential crimes he and others committed. With MAGA, most media isn't digging for what's true -- ie the news -- but rather reporting on how a segment of people respond to Trump's actions.
They cut all the queer content from ELIO to appease bigots who, importantly, still didn't go see it, leaving a film that was ultimately not about anything.
And the wrong lesson will be learned.

If passed, Newsom's budget plan will:
Strip Medi-Cal from every 65+ or disabled person with more than $2000 in assets.
Remove dental and long-term coverage from undocumented Californians.
Impose higher premiums specifically on undocumented people.
Governor Newsom may defend us in speech, but he's voting to kill.
His proposed budget for 2026 targets elderly, disabled, and undocumented Californians, and strips them of access to healthcare.
In terrible breaking news for the people heavily invested in guns, bloodshed, hatred, and the apocalypse, a Muslim leader and Jewish leader are working together for the world they want to live in. if this were a university lawn, such an act would almost certainly be labelled as hate speech.

I know everyone is loving the Musk schadenfreude but we have to stay on the alert for the possibility that Musk is going to turn his sights to those centrist dem conventions going on and further entrench transphobia and anti-immigrant sentiment.
And they would easily work with him.

The status quo data people say Dem leaders should make strategy based on what polls well. But that’s false: this is evidence the polls can be shifted by Dem strategy.
