Has anyone read the 448-page complaint of the Industrial Energy Consumers of America et al. calling for independent regional transmission planning for transmission facilities at 100 kV and above? (FERC docket EL25-44). Curious on your thoughts on this, grid nerds.
Hi! Good to see you too. I hope youβre well.
Big fan of the interregional transmission provisions. You?
Anyone else getting this on #EnergySky?

Itβs a pleasure to be here. Iβm Max and Iβve been focused on (electric) transmission policy and innovation for the past 5 years and on climate and energy more broadly for the past 15.
Would there be an interest in a #transmissionsky or #gridsky focused specifically on grid issues (interconnection, interregional, OSW transmission, siting/permitting, grid innovation, etc.)? Happy to create it if thereβs interest.
As would I!
And also THIS thread π
Smart!
This thread! Thanks for sharing your insights, @mfarmer.bsky.social
Sweet!
Merci!
No prob and thanks!
Hi Michael! FYI, your Politics list link links to your Econ list
Iβm so happy to hear that. Personally, I think EPRA is a huge step in the right direction. Youβve given me some much-needed hope βΊοΈ
I agree, unfortunately.
May your grid upgrade costs be minimal.
@kyledavis.bsky.social, Iβd love YOUR take especially. My baseline assumption is that Christie (probable next FERC Chair) is less likely to move on this expeditiously than the current Chair. Moreover, not at all clear to me that interregional tx is on the radar of Republican leadership. Thoughts?
