Building Trust, Saving Lives | How ARC-WA Is Strengthening Epidemic Preparedness in West Africa
West Africa is strengthening its defence against Lassa fever and future epidemics. The CEPI-funded Advancing Research Capacity in West Africa (ARC-WA) project is helping build strong, locally led clinical research capacity which will enable faster, safer, and more effective response to Lassa fever and emerging health threats. Through the establishment of Clinical Trial Units, advanced laboratories, mobile clinics, and sustained community engagement, ARC-WA is positioning the region to develop and test vaccines within the first 100 days of an outbreak. Implemented by MRC Unit The Gambia at LSHTM and the International Vaccine Institute (IVI), with partners in Owo and Bauchi, Nigeria, this is what collaborative science, community engagement, and regional leadership look like in action. Subscribe to our channel for more stories on health research, innovation, and impact across in The Gambia and West Africa. 📽️: @STSPictures #ARCWA #CEPI #EpidemicPreparedness #GlobalHealth #ClinicalResearch #VaccineDevelopment #WestAfrica #HealthSecurity #mrc #MRCG #gambia #IVI
