A test came back showing increased intestinal inflammation, so that's fantastic. (And by "fantastic," I of course mean "well, fuck.")

Chopping out the worst of the damage and starting on Stelara has kept the Crohn's under control for almost 2.5 years. I don't want to start that cycle again.

Just in case you haven't heard about it yet: I loved the Oscar-nominated short film "Jane Austen's Period Drama," which literally made me LOL several times and brought me a great deal of joy!

Romancelandia, this is very much Our Shit™.

She worked HARD for someone with just a very part time job. And as soon as we were both in school all day, she went back to teaching.

My mom was home with us until both my brother and I were in school. But she made all of our clothes, all of our meals from scratch, had an extensive vegetable garden, and canned everything we couldn't eat fresh. She also taught sewing classes at night, and probably other stuff I didn't know about.

The first time my dad went on a business trip and I was old enough to understand, he sat me down and explained he was going to Miami. Later that week I heard my mother telling someone on the phone he was going to Miami and got very upset. "It's not Your Ami, it's His Ami!"

My mind goes totally blank in that moment. Like, couldn't even tell you the name of the book I'm currently reading. Nothing. I've read THOUSANDS of romance novels over the last 30 years. My brain crashes at the idea of finding the one, perfect book in all that.

Bad? No, I’m not getting bad “again”. This isn’t something “temporary”. This is the state I’ve been in for a long time. But when I become mentally exhausted from all the pretending, that’s when you see it too. It’s getting bad “again” for YOU. Because for me, this is something I have to deal with every day. Every hour. Every moment. I am only showing you the tip of my emotions, because if I let you see it all, you won’t be able to comprehend how I am even still alive. You’ve seen nothing.

My grandparents were in assisted living. Granted this was 30 years ago, but I'm not convinced that assisted living would give her significantly more care than what she's already getting at home with me. We may be looking at nursing homes.

My brother was already planning to come over today, and we're going to have to have The Talk. The Things Can't Go On Like This talk.

We already had an appointment scheduled with her GP tomorrow for other issues. It may morph into an appointment about assisted living vs nursing home.

Mom, in her infinite stubbornness, decided to stay up until 3 am last night and then fell getting into bed. I was out cold and didn't hear her calling until 8:30 this morning, so she spent the night on the floor. Miraculously, she appears to be uninjured.

Weird. I usually end up having someone bring me saline gel, because the hospital is always so damn dry that my sinuses ache.

I went out for gas tonight, expecting that prices are probably going to go up. Paid 64 cents a gallon more than I would if I'd filled up when I drove past the same gas station Thursday afternoon.

My problem was always *too much* progress. By the time I washed my hands I had to go again. After a while, you give up and just sit til you’re done.

But I will say, if he does have Crohn’s, he probably feels like hammered shit. The fatigue can be crushing. I don’t care if his dr said it was normal. It’s not. Get him to a gastroenterologist. Untreated, Crohn’s can do massive damage. I shit in a bag these days, but at least I’m not dead.

I have Crohn’s disease. It started with hellacious hemorrhoids and spending an hour (or more!) in the bathroom when I woke up and after every meal. That doesn’t excuse leaving all the work to OP, or suggesting that his parents take up his share of work for a second child.

Just finished watching Passenger on Britbox. It ends on a cliffhanger with at least 5 characters in mortal danger. I just found out it was cancelled. No season two. ARGH.

Trump is mad that an AI company won't allow its software to decide who lives and dies without human input, so he declares that he's not going to let some woke company dictate how the military fights. Refusing to make the decisions is making the decisions. My brain hurts.

Same. I prefer a single narrator, will tolerate a duet if I must, but a full cast?

Had a dr's appt this afternoon. I'm wearing my Reading Rainbow t-shirt, and the nurse commented on how much she liked it. And then asked what it was about. She'd never heard of Reading Rainbow. How? She very clearly grew up in the US.

I've spent plenty of time watching people miss the entire point of the religion they claim to follow. This is... wow. Violence and hate are at the tippy-top of the list, and then there's this.
