The War on Privacy by @jaredhenderson.bsky.social .
Because of technologies like #Flock's AI surveillance cameras, people are thinking about the right to privacy again. This video explores how we've lost our #privacy to corporations & the government, but also how we willingly gave it away.

a young philodendron vining plant has several speckled variegated leaves spreading out in different directions. the leaves are long and elegant. in the center, a young leaf has just unraveled itself and opened up with a beautiful sheen. a whole section of the leaf is a bright cream color, indicating less chlorophyll.

Personally I just really love reading.
But I also adore libraries so go to your library this new year. They have all the books, you can request books and they nearly all have a online service for e books these days. #Libraries2026

People can be both victims to systems that taught them self-abandonment and hatred, and be responsible to their actions upholding those harmful systems.. much like men within patriarchy, and white people within supremacy.
Women can share responsibility for upholding patriarchy (and electing misogynist leaders) without being the primary contributor. It's not all either/or, but often both/and.
We can't fix problems we can't acknowledge our part in.
YES Men should.
But we MUST, too.
It's everyone's problem.
...and many of those husbands teach against right to consent within marriage. π
The abuse of women is built into these hierarchal systems that rely on their labor, obedience, and bodies (producing more workers/labor).
...and any amount of violence - whether it be from men, guns, or war - is justified as part of the "cost" of God's Great Plan (conversion of all).
It is a dehumanizing plot that uses fear and promise of betterment against folks. "Love your neighbor" doesn't mean much when you hate yourself.
Unfortunately, they are often taught that love is sacrifice within an authoritarian hierarchal framework.
Regardless of genuine love, they are in an ideological prison that tells them to be willing to sacrifice their kids (and themselves) for "the cause".
It is supremacy disguised as morality.
