Very much appreciate that @chrislhayes.bsky.social, a very public person who doesn't need to take the subway (and probably has some legit reasons not to), takes the subway.

@ashafferwx.bsky.social is this uncertainty because of the weather balloon thing? Or just March in Minnesota?
Happy "None of Us Will Be Shoveling This Snow" Day for all who celebrate, which is all of us.
I don't know. But I think the latter will lead to a better future.
De-stemming fresh herbs. There should be an Uber for that.
Here's some nice counterprogramming for the images the world has been seeing out of Minneapolis for the last few months
My family gets all of our care at HCMC.
Every family Iβve supported with rides to medical appts over the last 2 months has also been at HCMC.
This hospital is so critical.
I have gotten all of my care from them for many years now-several specialists, as well as our family practice doc. This would be a personal loss for me as well as the community at large.
This would leave a massive hole in our health system.
Can't let this happen.
The legislature must act.
And you can, too. If you, like me, have good insurance and can choose where you receive medical care, I highly recommend HCMC. They need insurance-carrying customers in order to survive, and to support those who rely on the safety net.

Don't let the brutalist architecture fool you. This building is full of warm, best-in-their-field medical professionals.
HCMC has been my family's medical system of choice for two decades, from birth to death and everything in between.

This is absolutely incredible. Nice work, @ziibiing.com
Take out the trash dayβ’
ICE, imperiled, schooled
βItβs my expectation, and we will hear more from them in the next day or so, that we are talking days, not weeks and months, [remaining] of this occupation,β Walz said.

I would hypothesize no relationship between residential density and the density of rapid response networks. They're all over the place! Difficult to measure though, because op-sec :)
That's a throwback
There was a clearly coordinated uptick in Federal abductions of legal observers/commuters on Friday. As far as I know, this is the first media account of it. Good on this commuter for getting the story out there. It needs to be told, otherwise it's just Homan's word against nobody's.
He doesn't want the president to use an emergency declaration as a pretext for the Insurrection Act. Not defending that stance, but I think that's Walz's point.
Everyone has a butt, put some jeans on it!

From the somewhat blurry images posted at store.nytimes.com/products/new..., it looks like four days' NYT front pages since Jan. 8 may have been missing a mention of Minneapolis or Minnesota: Jan. 12, Jan. 21, Jan. 22, and Feb. 3. Still, that would mean Minn. has been on the cover 28 days out of 32.
*art shanties
If you want to see hundreds of Minnesotans smiling in one place, check out the last day of the Lake Harriet ice shanties. Open until 4:00.
A few days ago it was The Beths and Wet Leg at the Wedge and I didn't want to leave.
Ope, nevermind. Just no headlines.
The front page of the Sunday New York Times
No mention of Minneapolis or Minnesota on the front page of the NYT today. When did that happen last? @chrissteller.bsky.social
"Other duties as assigned."
Looks like Sheriff's deputies, not MPD.
Today's escalation against commuters makes this especially true. But it won't stop us.
I thought I just missed it. Ugh.
DOJ just posted a news release confirming.
