It then devolved into me being lectured about how “America has given you everything! Why are you so ungrateful? How could you hate the country that gives you the best life anyone in history has ever had?”
I then asked if they thought if it was fair that the only country to have deployed nukes on other people should be allowed to be the arbiters of morality and they got REALLY flustered and mad and eventually said “you probably want Iran to win!”
I replied “Marg bar Amrika” and laughed at them.
So the cultists at work claim Iran isn’t allowed to have a nuke because “they say death to America.” I ask why can we have one when we say death and destruction to our enemies? “Because we aren’t evil, they are.”

You’re not “soft” I wouldn’t say, you’re just a normal, decent person. It’s very hard to imagine wanting to do violence towards an innocent person. I think you have to be extremely awful for that.
I’m so mad at the state of the world. Not only at the cruelty of it, the world has always been a very cold and cruel place generally, but more so at the lack of our ability to counteract it in any way. We sit here at the mercy of a small percentage of utterly awful people.
You’re a much better person than I am. When I heard him say that, my response was to want to violently rip his life away or at the very least put him in a cell and force him to stare at images of victims of the bombings until he ends himself. People like him lack any hint of humanity.
