Can you help? I need recommendations for guest speakers to talk to my group in the New Forest, we seat 80 to 95 people twice a month. Military history speakers, aviation, WW2, WW1, etc. If you've seen anyone to recommend please say, or if this sounds like you.

Global Health Histories podcast series
A couple of months ago, I was a guest on the Global Health Histories podcast series, talking about the history of medical care provision for disabled ex-servicemen in Britain after the First World War. The episode is now available and can be found here: ahc.leeds.ac.uk/directories1...

Am sticking with my bet that the right is reading this wrong and that the majority of voters are not at all unhappy Starmer has upset Trump by holding back from a war whose purpose and end game no-one seems able to define.

We have a lot here these days, and badgers. When I served here in the 70βs I think the place was too busy for wildlife! π

cutting from Daily Express 9/9/1914, p. 4, photo of young woman wearing form of nursing uniform, captioned: A member of the "Daily Express" Nursing Corps photographed yesterday at Selfridge's wearing the special badge with the regulation overall and cap. Inset is an enlarged reproduction of the badge.
Does anyone know of any work on the βDaily Express Nursing Corpsβ, formed in August 1914? Iβm researching someone who apparently paid for the training, exams, & uniform but then was unable to secure relevant employment. #WW1 #NursingHistory #histmed #medicalhistory

An intriguing find in amongst a box of military history books. This is a WW1 trench candle. It's very evocative. One can imagine its tiny lighyt on an upturned box in a dug out, perhaps illuminating the writing of a letter home.

After about a week, I spotted him in the grounds of a derelict house opposite, but heβs such a nervous cat I couldnβt entice him out. After three weeks I went away for the weekend and when I got back, heβd come home on his own accord, a bit grubby and skinny otherwise well!

Iβve had similar π© moments with rescue cats. The one I have now disappeared for 3 weeks once a few months after I got him.
Happy to be a house cat now 8 years later.
