Washington is facing some of the worst cuts to medicaid and more thanks to the looming BBB. If we want to get serious about filling the gap, we need to get our state level deficit in order ASAP. Progressive revenue is a vital tool that our constituents in Olympia NEED to implement, and fast!

PACs like People for an Affordable Washington are a huge reason why we didn't get a wealth tax last session. These corporations do not represent the concerned citizens of Washington state, as they only pay out to protect themselves rather than pay their fair share to help maintain this great state!

Corporate interests shouldn’t take precedence over everyday people in WA’s budget β€’ Washington State Standard COMMENTARY | Washington's tax code can only be described as upside-down and rigged to benefit those with the most.

"Everyone should pitch in, including the wealthiest people & corporations, so all of us can have thriving communities." Read on how corp. special interests got the final say in the budget (Ft. B&PC's Exec. Dir. Goss, @balanceourtaxcode.bsky.social, @eoionline.bsky.social & @investwanow.bsky.social)

Fatema Boxwala giving testimony in favor of proposed state revenue initiatives. Quote: "Based on my knowledge of the operations of companies like Apple, Meta, and Google, I know that their threats to leave the state are fear-mongering. They rely on a workforce of highly skilled individuals to live near and work in their offices. And no tech worker I know wants to move to Texas."

Nick Mercadante giving testimony in favor of proposed state revenue initiatives. Quote: "Companies may make threats that a tax like this would hurt their businesses and therefore their employees, that they would have to make cuts or layoffs. As a former Lockheed Martin employee, I am here to say that these cuts and layoffs already happen with or without these taxes that only ask our high profit employers to pay their fair share."

Washington's tax code is upside-down. With the current threats from the federal government, it’s important that we create truly progressive revenue in Washington state, to close the gap in our state's budget. We're here to show lawmakers that tech workers love WA, and we want to see it thrive.
