photograph of a grey sculpture in front of a grey backdrop. The sculpture is a goblin looking to the left, in profile. He has a pointy nose, an over bite with a lil toofer, and big ears. Also some sort of leaf or skin tag stuff coming off his head and shoulders. His eyes are glowing golden orange. Sort of seems pleasant, for a goblin?
Something new. Soon.

I really love Dr Prune, I think he's become my favorite.
Also, while it's nothing like Gormenghast, I found Piranesi to have a strange similar vibe, like coming home. Same sort of feeling, it was nice.

sketchbook page open to show two portraits in profile. They are skinny people, a man looking right and a lady looking left. It's Dr Prune and Irma from Gormenghast.
A thing about Bsky I love is every couple months rolling through the new #gormenghast posts and seeing all sorts of new art. I felt like I was alone with this weird book for so long, and now more and more people love it and share things.
Anyway here's some Prunes.
Sketching for A Gormenghast inspired illustration
A drawing inspired by the novel "Titus Groan" by Mervyn Peake. Titus at his christianing, laying in the open book of ritual and staring up at the viewer with purple eyes

I heard a rumor near the kitchens that this kid was ugly.
Black and white commission for the Red Dwarf crew - from l. to r. we got Rimmer, Holly, Cat and Lister playing poker with two scutters assisting. Cat is cleaning up the game. And Kryten is cleaning up after the boys from the Dwarf with his vacuum attachment.
Gonna watch some Red Dwarf today. ๐ข
Pouring one out for our Boy from the Dwarf Rob Grant.
I dont know what this is but I like it.
Closeup photo of a sculpture in front of a grey backdrop. The sculpture is of a red creature with green eyes and green leaves growing fro the top of its head. It's holding a tiny potted plant in one hand and gesturing to it lovingly with the other hand. It's surrounded by big growing green plants on all sides. He's also wearing a little orange and lime green knit scarf.
"Grow Your Joy" is the other piece that was accepted into Infected by Art this year ๐๐ฟโจ
It's about giving what you love time, care, and attention. Giving yourself those same things.
It's also a reminder that I seriously need to re-pot the houseplants this weekend.

There are two beetles and a cicada left in the shop. Leslielevings.bigcartel.com
George from Seinfeld and the soup episode. He's wearing an orange jacket and looking seriously as he says "I gotta focus. I'm shifting into goblin mode." (I've changed "soup" to "goblin" here)
I'm finishing an extremely important sculpture of a goblin this weekend.
It's a strange life, but I enjoy it.
Photo of books and postcards on a black table. The books are in the middle, they are a dark sage green with a large black-and-white illustration in the middle. The illustration is of a young lady standing in the woods surrounded by tiny chicken-legged huts. The book is called Shackling, Tales from Baba Yaga's Garden. Around the books are postcard prints of the cover drawing, and of another baba yaga hut. There are also some small stickers of a hut in the top right corner.
MMMM, kickstarter fulfillment ...
I wrote a little book about where chicken-legged huts come from, and a whole bunch of lovely people helped me make it real on KS. So excited to be sending these out soon ๐
Shackling, Tales from Baba Yaga's Garden - should be in the shop mid-March.

I always love this one. I always think about it when I toss eggshells ~ like "c'mon ladies here's your tiny boats!"
There is ONE DAY left in my friend Jon's campaign - he's written a wild epic, mythic poem with jaw-droppingly gorgeous illustrations. It's also got a ttrpg if you're into that?
I have Book One and I love it. Excited to get Book Two...

Sketch of a bear jumping right at you! The bear is somewhat translucent and there is a tiny halfling bard trapped inside his belly holding their breath.
Also, I'm totally for hire on fantastical ttrpg projects like this.
Sketching a giant, translucent goo-bear was a challenge and super fun. The AD saw this sketch and asked me to make it more "bouncing". I then lodged the a cappella Gummy Bears theme song into both our heads for at least a week ๐คฃ
So anyway, if you want a copy of this book - using this link right here gets me a lil' kickback! And getting more $ to artists is a beautiful thing.

Screenshot of a frame in a Kickstarter promo video. The image is a golden gummy bear with a gold skull floating in black space with gold marble lines going through. Inside the gummy bear is a halfling bard that is apparently suffocating. It's a D&D thing.
Imposter Syndrome is seeing a KS for a book that includes my art in it, and thinking "well, I'm not really a part of that, I'm just this lil' nobody".
And then: finding they animated my favorite piece from the project in the KS video. ๐ฅน๐ฅฐ
