I just saw that Baz Luhrmann met Felix from Stray Kids and my greatest wish for life (outside of seeing one of my books made into TV/a movie), would be to see the Baz Luhrmann version of Labyrinth with Felix as Jared. If this skeet makes sense to you, we can be friends. Unless you disagree with it.

Beauty by Robin McKinley because it is suffused with such heart and makes Belle feel more like a real person.
Pamela Deanβs Tam Lin is an interesting take, set in a small town Midwestern college & mining its folklore.
Mark Helprinβs Swan Lake because of Chris van Allsburgβs illustrations.

a propos earlier convs about how some readers insist books must be first person, I was just checking something on Goodreads and someone's left a comment on one of my reviews saying "may I ask before I purchase - is the book in 1st person?"
It's a scholarly biography of Edward I.

Photo of a very large mosquito in brown and cream with striking gold bands on its abdomen, and gold and blue on its legs and proboscis.
Australian Elephant Mosquito (Toxorhynchites speciosus).
A most welcome sight in my garden. The adults don't drink blood at all (they prefer nectar and sap), while the larvae consume other types of mosquitoes!

An illustration of a dinosaur playing Basket-ball by a 9 year old kid.
A year later, showing how art evolve with time and how important it is to keep the creativity going to inspire younger generations to try and evolve.
I helped him with advices for the proportions but everything else was made by himself.
I met the kid today and to my surprise he still draws now and then!
So I asked him to draw the dinosaur playing basket-ball again, to see the progresses he made
And wow, look at the evolution!
This makes me so happy
That's why teaching art values is important, AI could never make this happen.

A small illustration/ scribble of a dinosaur playing basket-ball.
Illustration made by a 8 years old kid that never drew much before. The result is pretty good after many tries.
Also, this is his result after many tries!
Told him how to hold the pen and let the hand wander over the paper for better line quality.
It looks pretty good and he can't believe he did that himself!
That's the magic of art!
Hope he can continue if he likes it and who knows, become an artist too!

A traditional illustration of an anthropomorphic dinosaur playing basket-ball. He looks at the viewer while playing.
The result of an illustration I did for a kid while explaining why this is better than the AI art they tried to do on their tablet.
I been invited to a friend's place and one kid was doing AI on their tablet. Told them that it's bad and the father asked me why. Explained and also said real art have more soul.
He wanted to make a dinosaur playing basket-ball, I drew this for him. They loved it so much, the dad paid me in the end

An author is worried that their book might "die on submission" and wanted a pep talk. Here's why I hate that phrase, and also case studies, and also a pep talk!
It's not that it hasn't happened. It just hasn't happened YET. YET: YOU'RE ELIGIBLE, TOO.

UGH: so the credits for the service we use for mastering won't refresh until 2am our time, which is kind of misleading since their site says they would refresh TODAY. I guess they forgot to tell us they run on Central European Time.
Anyway, all this means I'm getting up super early tomorrow πππ
