Anyway, I thought these were cute.
Who is hype for @comicsthemagazine.bsky.social?!

It's really hard and really important to take this stance. When visible actors in visible roles take the lead on this and shame companies for these practices they protect smaller and less-seen workers from being taken advantage of β€οΈ

The always great @comixace.bsky.social took my sales charts straw poll from ComicsPRO and ran with it, and while I do want to say Heidi and I do not "argue" about them (it's more a discussion!), this is a great piece digging into an important topic behind the scenes in comics.
I like to jump on trends occasionally...
I hope to restock the whole run when we get the new issue in
Huzzah is right!
Battle Ground, WA is refusing to give a teacher her job back, ignoring a judge's orders. The teacher was fired after a student made up a story that she'd called Charlie Kirk.
Has watching ICE convinced MAGA that they don't need to obey judges' orders, either?

The author sits at her exhibit table next to a Mitski poster she designs. Two teens stand in front of her table. One teen asks, βis that a REAL Mitski poster?β The author answers, βhaha yeah β¦ from 2015! Over a decade!β
The author looks wistfully skyward and says βit was a small scene in Brooklyn β¦ we have the same birthday actually!β
While the author stews in nostalgia, blissfully ignorant, the teens give each other a look. One of the teens says βoh my Godβ¦β
The teen follows up with βMitski is OLD!β A spike from the word balloon punctures through the authorβs glasses into her eye.

A sign saying no parking from 12-6pm on March 8th
Parade day is always a little packed, and there's always someone who forgets it's happening, so...
A reminder.
Next:
"Wilson imagined a world without war. FDR imagined a world without fear or want. Todayβs political class imagines nothing."

Still dropping the ball on having 3 lives a week, but at least I made this second one of the week nice and long this time!

Politicians and journalists on X keep referencing right-wing obscurities as major political issues, and keep framing major political issues of the day from a right-wing perspective. Getting your perspective from X is even worse and is more misleading than mindlessly following polling numbers.
i don't know how to teach people to be more curious but i think that's what we desperately need
We're going to be opening about 20 minutes late.
Partly because of this one, so... Enjoy some curls.
What just happened in Dallas County is one of the most blatant voter suppression operations I've ever seenβand it happened in a *primary*.
In March. Imagine November.
I broke it down here:

Shouldn't the teens in the second Jumanji movie never have gone in, since the 90s dude was the one who started it?
Based on the first movie, yknow? Since Alan never disappeared, the kids never played the game shouldn't it be the same?
Asking the big questions here.
Covid is going around a group I'm involved with, and guess what I'm learning? The copay for Paxlovid is super high for some insurance ($1K) and not covered by others. America: so great!!! π·π·π·
PS The folks I know who are sick are vaxxed & regular mask wearers. Prevention is great, but SO ARE MEDS.
I think the Republicans being pro-gets-no-bitches is why they have a bunch of losers who get no bitches.
GOOD.
Primary the hell out of all the collaborators.
I shouldn't post this...
Like.. It's such a rude and dumb take.
It's kinda mean and it doesn't actually do anything to help the issue I point out... But it bothers me so so so much!
But I simply can't contribute to complaining about totally inconsequential garbage!!
BUT
Do we get to hold all Christians accountable for this? Do opinion writers for big newspapers get to accost nuns on the street and demand "what are you doing to fix this?" Do we get to picket churches on Sundays? Also no?
