Prequel short story in which we see our protagonist at the height of her capability, summoned for an apparently easy mark.
I've been bogged down all week with edits and art work and am feeling the guilt of not working on the drafting project(s)...
Like this might be the point where it's no longer possible to pretend that the whole thing has just been a silly little exercise in creative writing and could be abandoned without any emotional cost.
Oh boy does getting Actual Art made by an Actual Artist for the cover of The Book suddenly make the whole thing seem terrifyingly real.
Transitions - moving pieces around, always with the risk of overdoing it and forgetting that time on the page =/= time in the story.
Easiest is fights, as long as they're the preffered kind - short, kinetic, descriptive.
