In light of recent danger noodle activity, if you do have dogs, please consider avoiding leaving them outside without supervision in areas that may be accessible to reptiles, for the safety of both the dogs and the snakes ๐ถ ๐
Tasmanian snakes are quite active at this time of year, basking in the sunshine and just generally going about their reptilian business. Unfortunately, this time of year is also a busy time for vets, who in my area, have been sadly very occupied with treating dogs who have been bitten by snakes.
After spending the morning relaxing in a shaded, coir-cushioned bucket, this tiny nope rope was expertly relocated by our local snake handler, Justin Kneebone, from whom all of the information above was gleaned. (Any factual errors in this text are doubtless mine.)
Yesssterday, we had an unexpected visitor in our garden. This is a juvenile tiger snake, likely one to two years old. Her slightly frosty-looking colouration apparently indicates that she is likely soon
to shed her skin ๐ โ๏ธ

Itโs been a year of sometimes precipitous ups and downs, but one of the definite ups has been beginning to work professionally with the lovely Sarah McKenzie!
Not only is she a very smart and supportive agent, she also has excellent taste in Christmas cards - thanks for everything Sarah! ๐ โ๏ธ ๐ ๐
I am Tasmanian, from a place of mostly abundant water, so no. But those from drier areas love them a soapy plate ๐คฎ
I see your British bad behaviour, and raise you Australians raised on water restrictions ๐ซง

Delighted to be the incoming President for the Australasian Conservation Dog Network (ACDN)! ๐โ๐ฆบ
Today, the dogs and I celebrated these new responsibilities by heading into the field to sniff out random animal body parts, and by playing a little scat hideโnโseek ๐ฆ ๐ฆ ๐ฉ

Kidnapped in international waters, extraordinary rendition to a genocidal state, and then imprisoned indefinitely.
You'd think this would trigger the immediate expulsion of the Israeli Ambassador for these inexcusable actions against an Australian citizen.
