I think they are sort of trading off on the spotlight, back & forth? There was a while when Hudson was everywhere and Connor was almost invisible, and now we're in a Connor blitz (in part because Hudson is currently filming on YAGA, an 8-episode Crave TV show based on Kat Sandler's play).

I've started having a smoothie for lunch every day. Learning that I could blend kale / spinach with a few random fruits and not lose any nutrition or fibre has been a Game Changer.
I do feel like it starts to sag in Act Two - I think Maddin found the ballerina playing Lucy to be more "his type" and that first act is stronger as a result. (I love his work, but that man's libido is stamped on every single film frame lol)

I have to watch myself for it all the time! Society tells us that certain people should fill certain emotional roles for us, but that's not always the case (like the post's example of parents who can't offer excitement about news) & letting go of those expectations can be so useful.
But yeah: the key to a low-drama life is to not expect things from people that they're not going to be able to give you.
Engage with who people really are, not who you want them to be.
Some people start in one category and stay there for decades. Some people move around based on what's happening in our respective lives. Heck, my husband started as a gaming pal, became a long-distance friend, then a fellow aspiring writer and eventually my life partner. Life takes many twists!
