The FBI thinks you are fucking stupid. Iran has zero capability to cross the Pacific and sea-launch a drone attack on California. This is too fucking dumb for me to comment on further.

“They’re flattening everything to the point they can get every member of the caucus before they’re willing to vote for something,” said Jonathan Cohn, policy director at Progressive Massachusetts. “That really narrows what an agenda will be.” financialpost.com/pmn/business...
This is dope
The Golden Girls holds up.
This is delightful which of course it is because it’s Tim Curry dammit but it contains two earth shattering revelations for the Curryverse and they are
1) he was considered for Ian Malcolm in Jurassic Park
2) he read the screenplay for Silence of the Lambs and wanted to be cast as Hannibal Lector
Really great one, on my bucket list to do some WFC stuff one of these days.
Moderate Democrats with columns in newspapers are constantly saying the Democratic Party is way too liberal on "social" issues. Moderate Democratic voters in real life do not feel this way. With some polling data from @gelliottmorris.com and @dataforprogress.org. newrepublic.com/article/2074...
Regular reminder that the Shatner cover of Common People is the superior version of the song.
I built a procedural medieval island map generator using Wave Function Collapse on hex grids. 4,100 cells, 900 possible states per cell, 60fps on mobile. Wrote up the whole process with lessons learned. Links below 👇 #threejs #webgpu
It was going on one, two in the morning, and we were shooting what I felt was an important scene for me, when he makes an attempt to be quote-unquote straight, in a suit, and at the end of it he gets emotional and locks himself in the other room. And I felt like, I’m not getting what I want—I’m not happy with it. Mike was happy with it. He called me the next day and said, “I know you weren’t happy with the scene last night. Believe me, we wouldn’t have gone home if I had felt we weren’t getting it.” And then he sort of became my psychiatrist and said, “You find it difficult to be happy, don’t you? You find it difficult to enjoy things.” And I said, “Well, sometimes. Last night was about feeling too tired and not feeling I was reaching what I needed to reach for the scene.” He talked to me then about when he was making, I don’t know whether it was Virginia Woolf or The Graduate. He said, “I didn’t enjoy it for a second. I was worried about so many things.” And then he said, “You know, this is never going to happen again quite this way. You should try to allow yourself to enjoy this more. Take a minute a day, and then add a minute the next day, and another minute. Pretty soon, you’ll have hours of happiness.”
The Birdcage opened thirty years ago today, so in its honor, I want to share one of my favorite stories about Mike Nichols that didn't make it into my biography. This is from an interview I did with Nathan Lane.
Good.
I read this as 5 3" snow storms and was briefly quite unhappy
Great to know their CEO doesn't even understand how AI works. It's not anxious because it's conscious, dumbass. It's anxious because you've been scraping the social media of users living and posting through fucking unstable times.
All that white water rafting at quarks!
Never occurred to me before, but Chief O'Brien must be the loneliest man in TNG. Stuck in the transporter room 8-12h a day by himself. He doesn't even get a chair.
Bernie Sanders’ billionaire tax would soak about 900 people to fund $3,000 checks for the middle class
Sounds fucking, great. Oh, you think it’s a bad thing… Fortune magazine.
Jules Winnfield had kinder words for the motherfuckers he was about to whack in Pulp Fiction than Becca Balint has for Noem here (the full clip is worth a listen).
The Sun will have to wait until it begins orbiting us as intended.

Went back and watched this old chestnut again. Turns out it was incredibly prescient. youtu.be/a8K6QUPmv8Q?...
Is that shit eclipsed?
Or two? At least? As many as you want.
I love you guys so gd much. What a joyful, amazing show. So few things deserve multi-decade runs and comebacks but so glad MST gets one.
a good thing is when someone posts a picture of a cat, and then people reply with "great cat, here also is a picture of my cat." unsolicited cat pics aplenty. this could be the world we build
"The world is entering a post-literate age, with huge implications for societies’ politics & structure.
The smartphone’s emphasis on photos & vids has driven a decline in reading, a consequence of which is that a growing number of people are unable to grapple w/ complex ideas and nuanced arguments"

when it produces a list of permissible targets, its value is not producing targets but producing permission
