the line is actually "no JESUS for us meeses," an oblique reference to the fact that, as muppets are unable to take communion, they are forbidden from entering the kingdom of god

Here's some bugs I've found while going through some stream samples-- both are caddisflies, but different species weave different kinds/shapes of casings to protect themselves!
Convinced we have the same feed. Been getting so much of both of these.
*๐ฎ๐ฆ๐จ๐ข๐ญ๐ฐ๐ต๐ช๐ด is a species of sunfish. The Longear Sunfish. Because the name means "big ear."
I love old field guides and drawings!!! Half the time, the scientific names have changed, and it's fun to see how. For example, the fennec fox is now ๐๐ถ๐ญ๐ฑ๐ฆ๐ด ๐ป๐ฆ๐ณ๐ฅ๐ข-- ๐๐ฆ๐จ๐ข๐ญ๐ฐ๐ต๐ช๐ด is a genus of sunfish!
Photo of a small crab from NOAAโs social media. Itโs covered in spikes

How exciting! We just got our Animal Crossing event set up at work.
I am going to be spending way too much money in the gift shop...
That's a good question! Some salamanders (most in the Plethodontidae family) will lay eggs in moist areas on land, completely foregoing an aquatic larval stage. Babies hatch as what are essentially mini-adults; this process is referred to as direct development.
Blue ridge two-lined salamander on a rock.
A closer look at the salamander. It's bright orange in color and has a dark line extending from the back of the eyes to the base of the tail before it breaks up into smaller dots and ultimately fades. This particular salamander also has two "whiskers" above its mouth.
Blue Ridge two-lined salamanders (Eurycea wilderae) are native to the southern Appalachian Mountains. Members of the Eurycea genus are referred to as brook salamanders, with most laying eggs in the water. Blue Ridge salamanders have a larval stage that can last for up to two years.
Green salamanders (Aneides aeneus) are a species of salamanders in the Plethodontidae family (woodland salamanders). They have one of the most specific niches among salamanders, preferring to spend almost all of their time in small, rocky crevices, blending in with the mosses and lichen.
