The Sun Eater: Ashes of Man

This book is a weird one. The first 3/4ths are a boring borderline slog with nothing too interesting happening but the tragic last quarter and its immediate repercussions almost makes you forgive the first parts. Weakest book in the series so far.

Super Battle Golf

Chaos. Just pure chaos. All directed at me as well from my asshole excuse for friends who even convinced randoms to gang up on me. Still had a good time despite the campaign to bring ol' wholesome Bao down.

J. Cole-The Fall Off

The best work I've ever heard from J Cole. Masterful storytelling and production, his absolute best work as a wordsmith, and a genuinely surprising amount of vocal experimentation that worked. Quik Stop made me cry.

Initial D First Stage

It's easy to tell why this holds the influence it does. A fun ride (pun not intended) with some very likable characters that are just passionate about cars and racing. Enjoyable even if you don't know anything about cars. Unique and great OST too.

The Sun Eater: Kingdoms of Death

The darkest book I've ever read. The most unique entry in the series and one hell of a tonal shift. I genuinely felt my stomach turning for some of these characters at points; a sign of effective writing.

The Sun Eater: Demon in White

My least favorite of the books in the series so far, for pacing issues and an underwhelming climax; but still a solid entry. The author implemented something that seems like a pain to write around so I'm curious how that plays out from here.

First time painting in over a year and I forgot how therapeutic it is for me. What's funny is i had a hazy idea for a color scheme in my head and couldn't for the life of me remember what character it's associated with. Then when I was done it hit me who I was thinking of.

R4 Ridge Racer Type 4

A new favorite of mine. Arcade racing at some of its most fun, with a lot of style and great presentation that really encapsulates the era it's from. The soundtrack is also absolutely amazing. Had as much fun with it now as I would've had back in 1998

The Sun Eater: Howling Dark

Way wider in scope & scale than book 1 with one of the craziest climaxes I've seen in something in a while. Most of all it gave me some inspiration for my own novel. Excited to continue from here and see where the series goes

Growing up she was my first "safe space" as a child. We lived next door to her and any time I caused mischief I would run next door to her because I knew she would take my side without question over my parents.

A very personal takeaway from my trip, a book about my family's matriarch, my grandmother; and the history of where we come from. I had no idea she went through all this. My memories of her are of her always having a smile on her face. I've always loved her but now I respect her immensely.

Thanks Hayden. The short of it was that he was an abusive alcoholic. But like I said I can finally put that in the past and move on with my life so I'm all good.

2025 has been a year of overcoming my demons and this was possibly the biggest one. A part of me feels peace in a way I haven't before. The work on improving myself continues.

Stood face to face with my father today after over 11 years. The biggest thing that stood out to me is that standing next to him now as a man that's found his confidence made me think "...I used to be scared of this old man"? It's almost amusing.

Ghost In The Shell

Fantastic writing about the boundaries & limitations of being human, and feels more relevant than ever today. Great characters, great music, great art. Very easy to see why this holds the influence it does. I regret not watching it earlier in life.

It's Finals week and I'm actually a little sad my Humanities class is ending. Studying the view points of philosophers through the ages, relearning the French Revolution, studying the impact Charlemagne had on Christianity; this class kinda reignited my passion for art and culture.

The Sun Eater: The Lesser Devil

Liked this way more than I expected for a side story. Was great seeing the contrast of how Hadrian is from his own pov vs how his brother viewed him. Great character writing all around and a fascinating blend of religion with sci-fi

The Sun Eater: Empire of Silence

The start of what I'm hoping will be an all-time favorite series of mine. Explores the origins of a young man that would one day go on to commit one of history's worst atrocities and I'm fascinated to see how we get there from where it starts
