It was deemed necessary to remove an old Oak tree to make room for a temporary pedestrian bridge whilst repairs of the existing bridge took place.

Iceland gull (Larus glaucoides) doesn’t actually breed in Iceland 🇮🇸 but originates from Greenland 🇬🇱 or Canada 🇨🇦

The more nimble BHGs outcompete them when it comes to grabbing chips in an urban car park!
Today’s observation in rainy Wharfedale: The Common Gulls are much more proficient at catching worms than their Black-headed Gull cousins.
Both perform the little foot-stomping dance but canus easily outperforms ridibundus with a much greater number of gullible worms brought to the surface 🏆
