Cozy mysteries (with a paranormal element). A CM is a crime novel with an amateur detective, small community, & a focus on plot & character development. Sex & gore are minimal, and when those things do happen it’s talked about rather than described.

“Are you really reading if you listen to audiobooks?”
Absolutely. What are you proving if you only read with your eyes? There’s no reward for that. It’s the story that matters. Imagine how many more worlds you could visit if you read while doing chores, or driving, or working out!
“Are you reading a children’s book?”
Yes I am. And so should you.
You’re an adult. You have adult problems. You say things like “life was so much easier when I was a kid”. Okay, so take some time and go back to those days. Read about a magical fairytale land. Smile at simple things again.

I love introducing people to the characters and worlds I have found between the covers of books. So I take it seriously when I match folks with their perfect read.

Reading is an escape. An escape from a world that I see is becoming more harsh, more unequal, more judgmental, and more authoritarian every day. I read to not be here anymore, if only for a few hours at a time. I read for my sanity.

I found this book series 20 years ago. Spanning 23 publication years and 31 books, this cozy series centers around a cookie shop and its witty owner Hannah. Murder, mystery & a love triangle make for a delicious series. And each book has a ton of cookie recipes! I’ve made every one & they’re great!
My plan for this account is to give amazing book recommendations in 300 characters or less across multiple genres and for many age ranges, while also answering “pressing” literary questions with the same brevity.
