Have a feeling that when I look back on this eclectic reading list I’m going to recall my exact state of mind…searching for answers with a dash of desperate escapism.

Also, lady at the local bookstore said she can’t keep 1984 stocked. We shared a Look.

Our kids have been listening to the Greeking Out podcast. They love it. And ask a LOT of questions…

My family does shrimp tempura as part of Christmas dinner. We had enough batter left that posed the question of “What do we do with the rest of this?”

To which I promptly answered, “Deep fry the spam musubi.”

Zero regrets.

There is nothing more wholesome and healing than seeing a friend in person for the first time in over a decade and it feeling like no time has passed.

Perhaps also proof that the power of hugs compounds over time.

Finished Dispatch tonight (despite promising myself I wouldn’t stay up late to binge the rest.).

Thoroughly enjoyed the story and characters - though feeling like I just romanced my last D&D character!

But, holy crap, those RT swipe QTEs on the Steam Deck are brutal.

Likely going for round 2…

Just back from the US. Two instances struck me:

1) Saying “hi, how are you today?” left a barista in shock someone acknowledged her as a person
2) Helped a couple get a large box into their truck and they were awestruck at the offer of help

I think…the world has become a very broken place.

I may no longer be at BioWare, yet #N7Day still gives me a whole lot of feels with many a wistful memory bubbling up, both as a fan and dev.

This October marked 20 years as a game dev. It has been a wild ride of high highs and heart-rending lows. I’ve met incredible people along the way, some of them my truest friends.

Yet our industry is in unprecedented times, leaving me to wonder if 20 more is viable. I’d like it to be.

My whole fam is sick AND I attempted to work today. Later at a dentist appt, the hygienist belatedly realized she hadn’t turned the tv on to something other than the screen saver (she’d even moved it closer). I told her it was fine, it was the quietest moment of my day - as she was scraping my teeth

Recent development 😭 I was sad to leave the team and project but necessary for life reasons.

Excited about this new adventure, though!

This marks the end of my first week at @telltalegames.bsky.social as Design Director!

It’s been an incredible week absorbing everything and getting to know the team. Very excited to dig into this project!

We are on holiday and planned to visit friends on the team…not the gathering it was going to be. At least I can give hugs in person.

Also incredibly fun when your husband gets the news on vacation while having almost no reception.

Fun fact @johnebenger.bsky.social @blairbrown.bsky.social : the PC I played with you folks was the same but I altered her story a bit to fit the new campaign setting. Your PCs were in my Session 0. I never found out for certain, but I don’t think things ended well for them 😉

As a surprise for the end of our #dnd campaign, I made portraits of the party in their final forms. Some truly big story twists that greatly impacted our PCs.

It truly is. This is my second full campaign with Ian and he's seriously upped his game.

Maybe stop giving us homebrew items to make us more OP (no, no, please keep it coming!)

We are also a bunch of idiots who often forget to follow up on very important pieces of info or that we have key items to not bring chaos into the world…it balances out…

I wear both. They don’t match at all, but that’s a choice. Apparently, I wear them “backwards” (engagement ring on bottom).

That said, @ccampbellart.bsky.social and I have matching wedding bands. Mine is a thinner width than his.

He’s sneaky like that.

And sometimes - only sometimes because why would that ever be a constant recurrence? - an insane player tries to be overtly clever and digs herself into a horrible, horrible hole.

Also very satisfying.
