Would love something on helping teachers address common problems (e.g. students calling out, a lesson going wrong because the start wasn't clear enough etc) - I always liked your scenario-based blogs!

Nice! This is what I did, although it took me ages to see it! Didn't see the fact that the hexagons shared a vertex for long time!
One of the most effective ways to drive effective inclusion is to make our teaching βaccessible by defaultβ.
Let's dig into what that means:

Made a couple more mixed homeworks for year 12 & 13.
Feedback from kids really positive - they find including some similar problems really useful this term.

Made this resource to review circle theorems with year 11 group - the "hinted" combination section worked really well.

Introduced Euler's number in L6 FM #MathsToday, by defining an area function under y=1/x and showing that it behaves just like a logarithm...
I imagine that's harder to fit in with the platform! Looks like very impressive stuff, though (just watched a demo video)
Hi Adam! The main things I like about Sparx at lower school is the built-in retrieval schedule and the fact that it is mostly self marking. I don't really know much about Carousel - how well does it deal with procedural knowledge-type questions?
A Level maths teachers out there: anyone found a good platform to set homework that properly supports retrieval practice? Would love to be able to use Sparx for A Level but clearly can't yet. Would love any thoughts #ITeachMaths #ALevelMaths (anyone use @carousel-learning.bsky.social for maths?)

Y8 sequences in #MathsToday. This sequence of questions was great!
Think that's a really good idea, thanks!
Updated to this:
In #MathsToday my year 8's were showing off their coordinate geometry skills. I love activities like this where pupils can see all the different things they can do with limited information. Might have to extend this for my GCSE class and include distances and perpendicular lines.
The biggest short-term teaching problem is ATTENTION. Students who aren't paying attention can't learn.
The biggest long-term problem is MEMORY. You can smash out the best lesson ever, but if you don't have a long term memory strategy you're wasting your breath.
Almost impossible to choose - so many nice things! I've been using this one this week donsteward.blogspot.com/2018/05/equa...
Anyone want to join in with a Sunday evening Don Steward appreciation thread? I know there must be countless amazing tasks on donsteward.blogspot.com that Iβve never even looked at.
