Facebook post from LA Opera telling Timothee Chalamet that their production of Akhenaten is almost sold out.
LA Opera claps back
Just what I was coming on here to ask!!
But what if with increased funding the government wants to control the kind of art that gets made?
Wow.
At the whole university level: How exactly does the money get allocated between schools/colleges? Student enrollment? Faculty headcount? Class equipment and supplies needs? Whatβs the formula?
Thatβs exactly what I think is going on. I wrote last year when reports about cratering sales came out about how this could happen. www.artsjournal.com/rowx/2026/02...
I thought this might happen, but I didn't want to be right. www.artsjournal.com/rowx/2025/06...

And where exactly is that money going?
Iβm in Greensboro NC and they gerrymandered Kathy Manning (D) right out of the district Iβm in and now Iβm represented by Virginia Foxx (R). Iβd be happy to talk to a journalist.

A chart of YouGov polling data with the headline: "A majority of MAGA Republicans approve of adding Trump's name to the Kennedy Center, but most other Americans disapprove." The chart's sub-headline is: "Do you approve or disapprove of renaming The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. to the Trump-Kennedy Center? (%)." The chart has the note: "Note: Identification as a MAGA Republican is based on Republicans' responses to the question, "Are you a MAGA supporter?" Non-MAGA Republicans are Republicans who say "no"; Republicans who say "not sure" are not shown."

@gtak.bsky.social would it be possible for someone to sue on the grounds they the Board is violating the statute? Who would have standing?
What do you think the turning point was around 2005-7 - the introduction of the iPhone?
Is that new? Iβve seen research focused ads during college sports before this year.
I loved this book
People went through all the stages of grief with changes to leaf collection over here in Greensboro last year π
And where does the money for these fines that theyβre paying go exactly?
Reportedly he's also trying to combat gender bias in who gets to speak and who gets interrupted. news.bloomberglaw.com/us-law-week/...
Thatβs a deep cut
Well thatβs a depressing way to think about something pretty joyful.
The purpose of museums isnβt only to display and educate but to conserve and research.
