Of the 5 DMP episodes we have, 3 were from private collections, meaning those are probably where the others are hiding. The 2 Mormon ones still nobody knows where they came from except they were workprints (I think). Regardless, this could very well be the start, not the end, of the new search.
DMP was always said to be impossible to find, with the episodes we had basically being lucky (unexplainable Mormon hoard and one ex-BBC guy realising he had Episode 2). The fact more is out there proves NO story is gone forever. And Marco Polo MUST be somewhere. Surely.
I am so irrationally proud of this community that I can already see a YTP based on the released *two minutes* of footage from DMP 1 and 3 on Youtube.

I think it was the trippy teleport bits from Episode 5 (which we've had since the 80s) which impressed Kubrick, but I know both companion deaths are well remembered for their haunting, unmatched imagery. We have bits of Sara Kingdom's through photos but none of Katarina's.

Also probably not helping matters is she shares a surname with one of the pioneering cast members of the show and so when you try and look up anything half the links are for Jacqueline. It's even odder cause I don't believe she stopped acting, just didn't do any interviews.
It is insanely hard to find much information about her, I remember watching some convention with her on Youtube but now there's a vlogger with the same name, that's been buried. Would be nice if one of her family members attended the BFI so we could know... well, anything!

My clown craze right now is DMP4 is next cause the source of the tapes (not the collector, how he got them) had all the early episodes and that one was given to someone else/Blue Peter got it then sold it again.
Courtney's first and last appearances in the Whoniverse will soon be available to watch on iPlayer, what an incredible thing to see. And maybe, quite soon, a restored, recoloured Invasion of the Dinosaurs 1, technically still missing.
Douglas Camfield was the GOAT, seriously. Master Plan was basically the production team going "OK, steering wheels OFF, go INSANE". He'd done two richly produced historical stories before this and now, just total insanity. Off the fucking chain.

Certainly they had loads of time to put an issue together for Web/Enemy (in the 50th anniversary year no less)... the Morris headline hasn't aged well but still, what a moment! And we thought THIS was "it". For so long.
DWM was just published, were the episodes announced as being found to give them time to do a proper front cover story on it? Sometimes HUGE news has been announced once they have the entire issue planned out which gets a bit awkward.
The circumstances behind the two episode recoveries are so weird there have been full length breakdowns exploring the rumour. Definitely the weirdest episode recoveries of them all, and for decades all we had of the story.

Master Plan's first half now being mostly intact makes the presence of Escape Switch in the archives even funnier. Why that one of the three comedy Monk episodes? Where's the surrounding episodes? Why was it (and Counter Plot) in a Mormon church? So weird!
Ah yes, the multi-month long Cold War parable about the dangers of fascism and mutally assured destruction and the vanity of power, totally not woke.
