Students from our Silicon Quantum Technology Lab at Quantum Days 2026 in Victoria, BC. A big shout out to the conference organizers for bringing so many talented quantum folks together.

This is the Wizard Nebula discovered by Caroline Herschel in 1787, a region of young stars. The bright star just above the Wizard's hand is a double star system consisting of two of the hottest type of stars (O-type stars). They are responsible for lighting up the nebula and carving out the shape of the nebula with their strong stellar winds.

Paycheque before parchment 👉 SFU data science student Rajandeep Kaur turned her fall 2025 co-op with the RCMP’s B.C. headquarters into paid employment. Her work: using tools like Tableau, ArcGIS, PostgreSQL and Python to identify crime hotspots and support preventative policing.
