the run i’ve won with him i had an engine of card draw, star generation, and huge value cards that spend the stars. if you get lop sided in anyway, ie too many star cards and not enough stars, you pretty much lose immediately, but you’re off balance in the beginning to start anyway
actually this might the straight up better album, dang love listening to something i’ve only ever kinda liked and then loving it
more bands should start a song that starts with a bass riff with the vocalist calling out “bass”

relistening to the followup on the other hand i just remember being more straightforwardly mean and miserable, it’s great though, leaning more into their metalcorey side of their hardcore punk, better songwriting, not quite the same emotional rawness tho

i love this album the most but definitely all their music just hits in a unique way for me
(i don’t say “white male” asshole energy because Al is biracial. just really american male asshole energy) there’s a lot of self awareness in it though, in the rage and alienation and self righteous punk and an explicitly stated want to do better. and nothing changes if we don’t change ourselves
there’s a bunch of problematic stuff on this album and it has a lot of thoughtless young adult male asshole energy, and yet it’s still one of my favorite albums of all time, and maybe my favorite hardcore punk album

I really think that some of you don't understand this country at all. Folks, 41% support is extremely LOW for a war led by this country. I ask you to right-size your expectations. This is a country that almost ALWAYS supports wars in the majority when they are launched.
