A win for transparency. β
Labor has dropped proposed FOI changes that would have added fees and made access to government documents harder. I opposed this bill because FOI must strengthen accountability, not reward secrecy.

Tony Abbot takes on Mark Carney in an intellectual fight β¦ oblivious to the fact that heβs completely out-gunned.
All this painful read shows is that Abbott places sycophancy towards the US far ahead of sovereign conduct. He espouses easy & wrong instead of hard & right. #auspol
Jacinta Nampijinpa Price charged taxpayers $2,500 to fly her husband to the CPAC conservative conference in Brisbane last year, where she made a speech calling to cut government spending. #Irony #Hypocrisy #auspol

How do billionaires manage to accumulate such obscene wealth? Because of this π
The mega rich simply buy political parties and policy outcomes to entrench their power and status while wages fall and life for millions of Australians gets harder.
It's time we taxed them.
No wonder he wants to suppress it: Election review goes to the heart of why Taylor’s all wrong for the Liberals www.crikey.com.au/2026/03/04/l...
Seems like the media should at least express some curiosity about this.

I want Australian citizens home from Syria. Can you honestly say that those women were not under coercive control when they left? Surely some? Despite leaving, they must be able to bring their children home. They said they are happy to do whatever it takes. Let them come home.
Why are we spending $130 million on a Royal Commission into antisemitism, but nothing to tackle Islamophobia or any other form of racism? Do some lives matter more than others? #auspol
Cruelty. And child abuse. Unforgiveable
Screen shot: Little surprise then that the Parliamentary Budget Office has found that 59% of the benefit of the CGT discount goes to the richest 1% (or those earning more than $362,900): with chart showing the richest 10% get $17.7bn from the CGT discount while the rest get $4bn.
The CGT 50% discount not only distorts the housing market it is also the most inequitable policy you could dream up. (Which is probably why John Howard and Peter Costello did it)

Measles was wiped out in the U.S. 25 years ago and now weβre already past 1,000 cases in February because vaccination rates dropped below the safety line. This is what happens when public health gets gutted and people stop trusting basic science.
The PM calling Grace Tame, a woman fighting for the safety of children, βdifficultβ is completely unwarranted.Β
Labelling women as difficult wonβt silence us. It wonβt stop us speaking truth to power.Β

Contrary to Albaneseβs word association games with the Murdoch press, I don't think Grace Tame is "difficult". She just doesnβt like dickheads and pedophiles, it's really quite simple.
Unfortunately that's all you can do - imagine. Our politicians are too cowardly to actually do something about #DomesticViolence.

Labor seems to think it is politically smart to go along with the cruelty, stupidity and racism of the Coalition on children and their mothers stuck in Syria.
But why scrape the barrel, when the latest polls suggest the hard right of politics is getting so crowded?

Political leaders must stop bending the knee to Trump, a delusional, dangerous autocrat.
Have we lost self respect, and our capacity to act in the national interest?
Capitulating to a bully, a felon, a misogynistic megalomaniac is not β pragmatic patriotismβ.
Itβs cowardice.
Politicians are outnumbered by lobbyists in Parliament House 15 to one; on sitting days hundreds of lobbyists roam the halls in Canberra, meeting with Ministers to influence government policies.
My Clean Up Politics Act would shine a light on lobbyistsβ activities.

Imagine the outrage if a Federal MP asked "Show me a good Jew!" Yet Pauline Hanson can rptedly vilify the Australian Muslim community by asking "Show me a good Muslim!" Shouldn't she be charged under the new hatespeech laws?! #auspol #Islamophobia
