Having been incredulous at this, I have no idea whether we have to have a license. I know you need a license to fish which I always found a bit weird
You have to have a permit to have a car boot sale?
I would pronounce it Mish-agin as a British person but I didn’t know if that was wrong Mitch makes me twitch
I’m just tired of the stoma and want it gone but I don’t want to tempt the universe into punishing me again 😬
They’re saying Mitch-agin and it’s making my skin hurt…
Watching the psychopath programme again because they fascinate me. This guy kidnapped and raped a woman because he had a minor car accident and was on parole so didn’t want to go to jail. Now he’s in jail for life. It’s clearly true that they’re not all smart.
How are we pronouncing Michigan? Every time they say it on Sky News it makes me cringe. Maybe I’m saying it wrong though, I don’t know…
I remembered that it’s rubbish day and I feel all accomplished. My partner had absolutely no confidence in my ability to remember, I was a bit offended to be honest. I am an organised person and manage to pay all of the bills so remembering the rubbish is not beyond me!
I literally said wow out loud to an empty room 🤣
I’ve been meaning to do this, not for Mother’s Day unless we count my cat 🤣 so it seems as good a time as any, and before my imminent surgery just in case I die and can’t appreciate your wise words!
I’m pretty sure it’s coming up to that time of the month because I just actually cried at the thought that I’m probably not going to see Alex or Greg again before I have surgery and that if I die, I’ll never see them ever again. Hmmm not exactly reasonable behaviour 🤣
I’m watching Great British Menu and there’s a South African woman with a scorpion tattoo on her neck and she looks badass. Also I love the South African accent. Plus three out of the four of these chefs are women which makes a real change. I’m enjoying it whilst eating a ready meal 🤣
This is the first time I heard the phrase confectioners custard. Also the face you make when the cake goes up there makes me really happy for reasons we probably shouldn’t go in to… so to speak 🤣
I have literally just done exactly the same thing! 🤣
Watching a tv show about psychopaths and the psychiatrist just said, “what you have to realise is, just because someone is a psychopath doesn’t mean they’re intelligent.” I love this guy so much 🤣
I had a really bad night, waking up at 3:19 with my bag leaking. It’s a glamorous old life this stoma business. Not the ideal time of day to be showering and washing bedding.
My fella did not miss his flight because his flight was delayed 🤣
My fella couldn’t go on his boys trip to Benidorm last year because I was in a coma. I’ve dropped him at the station and he’s just called and said someone has thrown themselves in front of the train and he’s stuck and will probably miss the flight.
Just came home to a woman parked in my private parking space. I politely indicated that I wanted to park there, she shook her head made a dismissive hand gesture and continued her phone call. I waited with my arms crossed until she moved. The absolute audacity of some people.
Even on the few occasions where men spoke up against other men, it was often to advise them on how to get the least amount of sentence for what they'd done, not because they were appalled at the other man's actions.
Yes financial abuse is also a crime here but the penalty is much less severe than other forms of abuse and it still doesn't fix the problem that abusers isolate their victims so where would they go?
It would not surprise me if the stats were similar here. Men would quite often brag about what they had done while in the back of a prison van with other male prisoners because even as an officer they didn't see me as someone who counted. I know there are also male victims of DV but not as many.
Also it's one thing to have reasonable sentences for domestic violence and good that now coercive control is a separate offence but if the courts don't actually follow the sentencing guidelines then what's the point?
I know it is a tiny bit better over here than it has been but law enforcement needs to get better at helping victims for a start and I've been in court where a man has got bail for charges of domestic violence and has been bailed to the address where his wife lives. That's crazy.
I get that it’s nuanced but I’m just sad that women don’t leave at the first sign of coercive control. We’re taught to give men way too much benefit of the doubt. Personally I would so much rather be alone than be disrespected
I’m very well aware, I worked with prisoners for a lot of years. It makes me angry that I would blame the woman at all and I know in hindsight these things obviously progress and may not be so visible at the time. Don’t get me wrong this is all on the men, I do know that. It just makes me sad.
I have a ticket for Greg's gig at the Eventim Apollo on Friday 13th March. It's seat C1 in the stalls and I would ideally like to get what I paid for it which was £58.25. I am a very reliable person but in order to receive the ticket you would need to download the Eventim app #gregdavies
If my partner told me to run him a bath I would firstly laugh and then tell him to do it himself. And these men who control everything their wives do look like ferrets. Absolute losers.
Watching a telly show about an abusive man and it makes me angry, at the man of course, but also at the woman. I’m so lucky never to have suffered this kind of domestic abuse but I just cannot fathom how a mother can watch her husband beat the kids and not leave.
