Having now read @hironennes.bsky.social’s THE WORKS OF VERMIN (I wanted to wait until I had THE CITY DEVOURS in the can) I’m glad to find that there’s not as much crossover as I first feared, but also, GODDAMN, what a book! What an incredible achievement. Exceptional, peerless storytelling.
I don't know what happened to me recently---maybe the rush of completing a draft of my secret 2027 trad-pub novel taught me that I can be a real writer again?---but in the past week I've found solutions to the main obstacles in Rust 5, Olesia Anderson 9, AND my Duke-Of-Hell-With-Two-AR15's novella.

I completely agree that Continental Europe is decades overdue a convention. But it’s tough as Aussies. A German fan could have done round-trips to every European Worldcon of the last 30 years TWICE in the same distance it took each Aussie to do a one-way trip to Glasgow. We need a win down under 😭

For perpetuating this misconception, I am sincerely sorry.
What seems more likely now is that GFM and RSB rolled up a katamari of shitty behaviour from across the entire harassment campaign of Isabel Fall and pinned it on a single figure plucked from the Vox article, without any supporting evidence.
5. GFM immediately deleted her most damaging and accusatory tweets re: NY, and the harassment of NY stopped shortly afterward.
The implication was that this case of mistaken identity was 1:1; that everything GFM had accused NY of was, in fact, on you. This was incorrect and unfair.
3. GFM claimed she'd personally seen Neon's harassing tweets, but that they'd been scrubbed. She repeatedly asked her followers to dig up this evidence (which didn't exist).
4. Eventually, one of GFM's followers said, "Did you mean *these* tweets?" and shared screencaps of your posts from Jan 2020.
1. After the publication of the Vox article, GFM and RSB publicly accused NY of everything mentioned above: leading the harassment, 1988=nazi, misgendering Isabel, etc.
2. This incited a month of harassment directed at NY, as well as their publishers, their friends, and their friends' employers.
I appreciate your clarification, and believe you. So there's no confusion about who is claiming what or ascribing blame, I'll restate what I saw.
Not necessarily quibbling or arguing with Jessica here, but: I think we need to reckon with what it means when a story like this is “good”
Because I think we can’t use that word in the same way that we do when we’re evaluating writing done by an actual human being making human choices
