TARRAN turned heads with its tech-packed front loader last year, but it's not going to be a one-trick pony. There will soon also be a longtail (L1) and it's no less impressive, with features like radar, a 215kg gross weight capability and on-board cameras too

Reid Bikes is back in the UK, starting with a trio of electric bikes, one of which is the attractively priced (Β£1,299) E20 compact cargo hauler.
Geoff handled photography duties aboard this low-step short tail for this review:

Fresh folding joy from Spanish specialist Q.IK here. Geoff took out the brand new Venetus, making the most of some early spring sun, which, as you'll see brought out the raw carbon weave finish. Stylish.

I don't mind taking the outburst, it's part of the job nowadays when sharing content online to deal with the needlessly ragebaited who haven't actually read the article.
How an electric bike can protect your money as another oil shock hits.
The argument for fossil fuels is ending, but so too is the argument for relying on cars for journeys of under five miles.
Here's some numbers to convince:

This looks promising from UTO - A Β£1,599 cut-price take on what remains our favourite folding bike.
Dubbed the ESS20, this is a seven-speed, 378Wh battery build with much the same design pedigree as the French brand's best-selling Afternoon Pro.

Thank god for the watermark - I'd have assumed it was topical satire without that.

The dvsa is tracking such things, so the market surveillance team there is the best avenue
You can't really begin to tackle that issue without addressing the structure infront of it. I know we don't have time on our hands, but that's the fact of the matter.
We can not indulge it, it plays into the hands of those who wish to conflate categories. I won't stand for it, it's causing real harm to the prospects of the entire market and e-bike movement.
Stanton Bikes, what on earth are you thinking?
I'm dismayed to see a Brit brand putting the e-bike category at risk by irresponsibly using & selling highly overpowered kits - filming their use on public roads & down countryside paths at speed.
Call it out.

An update to our guide to e-bikes and trikes better suited to those with lesser mobility or a disability, much thanks to spotting a few interesting new models lately.

Babboe is back & it appears ready to branch into the longtail cargo bike field with a new 24-inch wheel build.
Plus, new e-bikes spotted from EBCO ebikes & Reid Bikes, the latter of which has a concise three-model catalogue now ready to order in the UK.

Donβt tar all e-bike conversion kits with same brush, urges Boost
Arguably to conflate road-legal kits with non-road-legal is similar to conflating manufactured e-bikes with converted e-bikes. Is the damage already too severe & is action urgent? I think so.

I'm doing my very best to avoid it. It is possible, but it's hard to convince people to turn their backs on something that, in theory, makes their lives easier.

Our on a budget bike coverage continues with a bike that comes to market at only Β£1,199, but is both stylish and functional.
Should we review more #ebikes like this one on @cyclingelectric.bsky.social?

A really good piece from #GCN here and especially the discussions at the end and the final point about needing some visions and plans - that really is the thing lacking in the UK.

That's really kind of you and it sounds like you have the story I'm looking for - could we go into some more detail on a DM? I have just followed you
That's a strong angle, good to see someone doing the work of getting the next generation cycling.
Could I DM you for a bit more detail?
all good, i think you should now be able to!
That would be a very cool angle to explore, do you have any way to make contact?
Exactly what I'm looking for. Would you be happy to DM to line up the storytelling/pics if happy to share?
I know for a fact the more dogs we have i print the more readable our magazine will be, so could we DM to share the full story and pics?
I personally love it all, especially the sticking it to big oil angle. Can we chat in DM to exchange a bit more detail for the article?
I love this one, true freedom. Can I drop you a DM to collect further thoughts?
