Cover for the text video game Zork.
Played Zork on the basement mainframe at USC in 1979(?). Opened a whole world beyond Pong using only text.
Installation disk for Bungie’s Macintosh game Pathways Into Darkness.
Zoom updating to version 666 on Halloween.
Happy Halloween!

Does anyone in Los Angeles know the keyboard command to force quit summer?
Battlefield 6 RedSec battle royale Southern California map surrounded by a ring of fire.
Trying not to be triggered by the new Battlefield battle royale mode that occurs in a Southern California map that is literally surrounded by a shrinking circle of fire. Of course I’ll play it.
Thanks for the repost, Brian, otherwise I wouldn’t have known it was back on Tubi. My first written episode of TV, with guest star George Lazenby. Also see Brad Pitt, Mariska Hargitay, and many more…
And they changed the thumbnail to feature the fact that my first TV episode starred…. James Bond.
OMG, for the past four or five years I thought it (the one side dead issue) was just US. With three separate pods this has happened.
Appropriately catching up with Strange New Worlds on Star Trek Day... Imagine being the writers tasked with showing the first big adventure of one of the most iconic teams in fiction. They knocked it out of the park. Kudos to David Reed and Bill Wolkoff.

We already pay for it with something called the California Wildfire fund which covers any claims against the power companies beyond the first $1 billion. That fund may get wiped out this year and we'll pay more:

Monarch, Invasion, whatever the hell that new Vince Gillian show is….
Also, the bundle is dirt cheap when you share it with a family of four. I get that $40 for one person would be rough.
Ours is buried in the Apple One bundle, but I could never let it go since A+ is the SyFy Channel with budgets. I loves me some big dumb sci-fi (Foundation, For All Mankind, Severance, etc….)
I read that early “advertising satire” version from the library back at USC. It was not good! My gang still quotes some of the cheesier lines — pots calling kettles black, of course. Remember when Albert Finney was an action star? Looker and Wolfen! This is frequently $5 in the Apple Store.
Robert Shaw as Red Grant holding gun in From Russia With Love train cabin.
“Old man.”
Best final scene of any show -- even better than Six Feet Under.

Row of googly-eyed delivery robots waiting at crosswalk.
Traffic jam on Santa Monica Blvd.
That's so cool and great for NY. It's sad that LA has become so unused as a location. Back in the day you'd stumble across rows of parked trucks everywhere. Now, not so much. Maybe the higher tax credits will help.
Sadly, it is worse.
Way, way too many games. If it's an open world game, I want to play in it -- even though they are the longest. I live in Ubisoft's worlds (also Red Dead's and Cyberpunk's and Death Stranding's now that it's on Xbox). I started with Zork. I had a game writing agent for about a minute.
Swell. I was on a flight out from Burbank last week.
Loving all the winning we’re getting…

“Fired” is the wrong word, of course. Most features get re-written. You still get a sad phone call that you’re not involved anymore. They hired Dice and figured they needed a new hit comedy writer so they got the writer of Heathers. He also rewrote my roommate’s Demolition Man script.
“I see grouchy old people.”
Also, to all of #scriptsky, an old excuse: Ford Fairlane was written for Bruce Willis. We got fired, every line of dialog was changed and Willis made Hudson Hawk instead.
James Cappe was an American screenwriter and producer who made significant contributions to television in the 1990s. He's best known for writing on shows like: 1. **The Adventures of Ford Fairlane (1990)** - An action-comedy film starring Andrew Dice Clay 2. **Dark Justice (1991)** - A superhero TV series about a vigilante superhero
3. **Mortal Kombat: Conquest (1998)** - An action series based on the popular video game franchise Cappe spent years working behind the scenes on various TV projects, leaving a legacy of entertainment content. His work helped shape multiple popular TV shows and films during his career.
I decided to use the new Alexa+ beta AI. It’s missing lot of stuff and is overly complimentary. It also THINKS I’M DEAD?!? (“Was,” “leaves a legacy,” etc.). At least it doesn’t think I’m MechaHitler.
