Waiting for the Lord's promised feast of fatty foods & rich wine. I’m thinking Italian hoagies. Husband, father, pastor, veteran, and Delco (PA) guy in Florida after stints in DC, Saint Paul, and 12+ years in Indiana.
I canceled a few months ago.
Senator Tuberville hates America.
@vanhollen.senate.gov has emerged as a moral leader. He's been on the right side of issues the past year.
I had the privilege of teaching officers of the U.S. military for three years, and I just want to say that they take their jobs much more seriously than these assholes and (without presuming to speak on their behalf) probably hate this shit.
The US military is great at lethality. Truly world-class. Point to something and the US military can kill everyone there.
But lethality is a means, not an end. Ends are inherently political.
Said millions of times but bears repeating, since the people who don’t get it are in charge of the country.
The annual federal budget for disability services in schools is around $15 billion.
“Non-diverse participants” is the euphemism of the year
You cannot talk like this about any other minority in America.
And if it was any other president’s adviser who said something like this about any other minority, it’d be the instant end of their presidency.
Italy 5-0 over Mexico, so far.
So, Team USA (likely) advances?
It’s nauseating.
U.S. Southern Command @Southcom on Twitter On March 8, at the direction of #SOUTHCOM commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan, Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations. Intelligence confirmed the vessel was transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and was engaged in narco-trafficking operations. Six male narco-terrorists were killed during this action. No U.S. military forces were harmed. @DeptofWar
- 158 people killed in 188 days. Guilt for a non-capital crime unknown.
- 42 separate attacks.
- 27 in the Eastern Pacific. 13 in the Caribbean. 2 unspecified.
- 17 listed as at Donald Trump's orders. 16 at Pete Hegseth's orders. The last 9 at the orders of Southcom's Gen. Francis Donovan.
It’s too easy to go to war
Essential read: a statement from Cardinal Cupich. www.archchicago.org/statement/-/...
This was an excellent episode, on a topic near and dear to my heart and my vocation.
But let’s be honest. Every episode of Amicus is excellent because @dahlialithwick.bsky.social and @mjsdc.bsky.social are so damn dedicated to the law and to the best of what this country can be.
BREAKING: The US has bombed Tehran’s main refinery and burning oil is now flooding down the streets into the city’s sewers.
This is a vision from hell, unleashed by the US tonight.

To hell with all of them.
These are not serious people.
One thing I feel ought to be discussed more is the fact that basically all rural and suburban places in the US are subsidized by cities. They resent cities. They insult cities. They elect politicians who abuse cities. But none of them could survive without cities.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is planning to widen the shipping channel leading into Port Everglades, blasting through a coral reef and dredging up sediment that could smother acres of coral, federal scientists say. https://wapo.st/4r7kRAU
I’m old enough to remember when a tan suit worn at a press conference caused the GOP to go bonkers.
So damn arrogant.
So according to the WSJ a US Senator conspired with another country to manipulate the US into starting a war, am I getting this right
ESPN push alert ESPN President Donald Trump plans executive order that would "solve all of the problems" facing college sports now
oh ok
I’ve spent years, decades, obsessing over the Bush Administration’s Iraq WMD lies, writing about them, debunking them.
I can think of no lie about Iraq WMDs told by Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld et al that comes even close to the enormity and absurdity of this lie from Donald Trump.
They know that many people in the US will accept the killing of civilians overseas but will draw the line at high gas prices.
Killing people is entertainment to the sociopaths in the White House. Decency demands that we resist this.
They love their socials. Lordy.
Karoline Leavitt just cited the Iran Hostage Crisis (1979) and the Beirut barracks bombings (1983) as evidence of the "threat" posed by Iran now, in 2026
EXCLUSIVE: At more than 30 installations, U.S. commanders told troops the war on Iran is a Christian war.
The Military Religious Freedom Foundation has been “inundated” with more than 110 complaints.
One NCO said they were told the U.S. war is to bring about Armageddon and the return of Jesus…
Today’s “yellowcake”?
