Why is the biggest name in AI late to the coding revolution?
@mzeff.bsky.social spoke to more than 30 people, including OpenAI execs and employees who spoke without company permission, about how OpenAI is racing to catch up with Anthropic -- and why it fell behind in the first place:
That article you linked doesn't use the word Nazi, but their marketing was not subtle.

NEW: US Attorney nominee Phil Williams has a long & disturbing history of attacking trans people and their parents.
He said parents of trans children should be drowned. He also compared efforts to support gender-affirming care to slavery & the Holocaust. nominationnotes.substack.com/p/us-attorne...

I have literally watched something like 5 hours of this DOGE bro testimony. I'm completely obsessed, it's weirdly captivating. The circular arguments, the disdain from everyone involved, a true pleasure to watch

OPINION: I asked a former Trump official to justify this war
So the case for Congress is, once we have gone to war, if they donβt like it, they can remove the money? Congress does not have a constitutional role in the declaration of war. Congress has a role in cutting off funds for wars, which it has threatened to do. And the president doesnβt have to get permission. But yes, you can debate, you can decide. Thatβs his choice in how he wants to do it. I mean, here I will quote the Constitution: βThe Congress shall have power to declare war, grant letters of marque and reprisal, and make rules concerning captures on land and water.β

WOW. Rep. Glenn @ivey.house.gov: I just got back from Selma for the Bloody Sunday anniversary. We toured old slave quarters, they looked like what we just saw upstairs [in ICE holding facility]. In fact, they might've been a little bit better than what we saw upstairs."

I have been accused of being a nerd and of being able to share fertilizer, but few seem to regard those as a double positive. =( =)
Chart from linked article, showing what % of of each major fertilizer type (nitrogen, phosphorus, & potassium) the US imports, 2000-2024. N has gone down from 21% imported to 6%. Phosphorus is a little up from 2% to 13%. Potassium has gone from 76% to 94%.
The US already makes 96% of the N fertilizer we use.
The fertilizer we import the most is POTASSIUM. Which we get from CANADA.
When we import phosphorus, we get 98% of it from PERU. Not Iran.
So the reason we've had trouble getting those is TARIFFS.

Weird that story doesn't actually mention the nixed implementation of safety recommendations from the crash that's mentioned in the story.
NTSB is the last exemplar of independent professionalism in federal government, because we used to think stopping plane crashes was a goal beyond partisanship
A refresher on what Rubio once said about the Jan. 6 insurrection that Tarrio helped provoke:

Why are the Taliban here?
Why aren't the Kurds helping us?
I like how it's just strikes in a place, untied to any sort of actual strategy.
