Americans still believe in the concept of 'continuity'.
A delusion for many, as we have already crossed the line into 'discontinuity' that will last for decades to come.
True- but neither political party today has the moral compass to make those changes.
Well, we also have a corrupt economic system, the rise of fascism, staggering wealth inequality. Climate change is the second leg of a massive policy crisis.
We have no idea what inertia in the climate system will be bring. The time lag could go on for hundreds of years. And that's if we stopped emissions today.
No, we have not. But according to Copernicus, we should be in May 2029.
What about inertia in the climate system? Your assertion that we have to 'wait' is an RX for disaster.
The inertia in the climate system- the impacts at this level on the Keeling Curve, likely 440ppm in five years-
The impacts are a very lagging indicator. Your assertions have no basis.
To prove my point, we should reach 1.5C Β°C in 2029

20 year averages are a useless measure now. Its like climate records needing a 30 year spread. The Koppen system uses 30 years- 1991-2020 climate zone for my location in Connecticut is very dated. Since in 1991 C02 stood at just above the critical 350ppm. Next spring it could bass 433ppm.

Adam, we have the greatest wealth inequality in US history. Do you think this is sustainable? Inequality is higher than in September 1929. Should we impose fewer taxes on the rich and corporations? On the Keeling curve, 440ppm by 2030.
Frankly, you are another MAGA wannabe

I bought this book when it was released in 2014- So much of what Oreskes and Conway predicted has come true.
Also, a great read by them, two other books, 'Merchants of Doubt' 2010- and 'The Big Myth: How American Business Taught Us to Loathe Government and Love the Free Market' 2023

a rise of 27ppm in 10 years-the Milankovitch cycle over the last 800,000 years- that increase would take over 2,000 years- and We have did it in a decade! Where is American Exceptionalism When you need it? π€ͺ
The heat in Connecticut is starting now in mid June- with humidity levels off the scale- dew point today 70.
Winters in Connecticut fading from view. My location in 1970 was a growing zone 5b- today its 6b-7a.
