I still love Superman II. While not perfect, I'll always believe that there is a great movie in there somewhere. Another re-edit using existing footage from both the Donner & Lester versions would be ideal. Someday.

I don't believe that "cruelty is the point" applies any longer.
Evil is the point.
There is zero chance there will not be blowback for this insane endeavor. Killing their leader, trash-talking disrespectful threats? It doesn't end when the imbecile says so. Not a chance they don't come after the U.S. in some way. At best they will bide their time. At best.
Lovely. I watched the series finale of Picard in a theater here in NYC (the final two episodes actually). This made me feel like a kid again - and I wasn't even a kid when TNG went off the air.
Bankrupting the Treasury is the ultimate goal.
So even after they are gone, there won't be anything left to restart the social programs.
It never ends.
Never.
Best of luck to those fighting to save it.
There's no one to protect them from themselves and their own idiocy. It all comes back to bite them in the end. Their bravado will be their undoing. As always.
Well that's not scary and insane.
Just what we need to see in these trying times.
LUNATICS running the show.
He's not talking about soldiers. He's talking about civilians here - flippantly.
I'm in NYC - Manhattan actually (you know, the permanent bullseye). Where he got roughly 17% of the vote in 2024. Then again, maybe that's what he means when he says "We plan for it".
Wow. Love Jamie Raskin. He didn't relent in the face of that nonsense. Nice job, sir. As for Noem, she's a mean-spirited psychopath.
I'm sad about this too. She's an amazing person, and a true fighter that we all need in this party. I do think James Talarico will be a good Senator, but we are certainly all lessened by her leaving. I very much hope she returns to government as soon as possible. Jasmine, you are so appreciated. β€οΈβ
It's like talking to Flat Earthers.
It's just beautiful. Saw it on original broadcast, and it was the only episode to make me weep. I try to avoid rewatches too often to preserve something. Nominated for an Emmy and won a Hugo in '93.
Fair points (mostly).
Counterpoint: FU, Erik Prince.
Virtually all of the freedoms they benefit from are owed to the progressive left, throughout history. The sexual revolution, medical advancements, economic opportunities... the list is endless. And they would give it all up for one freedom - the freedom to be an a**hole to the less fortunate.
Republicans to Democrats: "Pound sand"
Thomas Paine didn't believe in millionaires (much less billionaires). IIRC, in Rights of Man, he proposed a 100% tax rate on incomes exceeding 23,000 annually (adjusted to approximately 780,000 today). The intention was to curb wealth and help fund the social safety net.
Fun tidbit - In his later years, George believed his birthday to be on the 24th. But he liked to claim both dates. He was known to mess with people who wished him HB on the 24th by saying "Nope, it's tomorrow" & then to people who wished him HB on the 25th he'd say "You missed it, it was yesterday".
There's nothing "shocking" about this. Johnson has been saying it for nearly a year. And it's a distraction. This is not a party that is acting like they fear accountability of any kind.
Trump's mentor, Roy Cohn:
1. Never apologize or admit wrongdoing, ever.

Blitzer: "He apologized later"
Did he? DID HE?
No, he didn't. He's never apologized for anything.
It was taken down but there was no apology.
WTF
Make no mistake. There is an element of Christian Nationalism in this country that would like to do the same. They would burn every album and every film if they got the power that they crave.
βΊοΈ Thank you, sir. β
Now, if you'll excuse me, sorry to cut it short, but today is my birthday and I woke up in a terrible mood as I always do on this day. In a lot of pain and I just looked out the window to find an old tree decimated by the snowstorm. That didn't help at all. Tomorrow will be better. It usually is.
JJ, we're in a very similar boat. But your musical journey doesn't have to be over. I don't know any of the things you mentioned (DAWs/audio editors). But we found a couple studios that can record & mix for us. Easy to say, I know. But don't give up if you don't want to. It doesn't have to be over.
I was kinda joking last month when I posted about the "Blizzard of 2026" here in NYC, but I guess it's official now...
I usually keep this to myself, but I've seen Sting live 22 times (including 7 times with The Police). So, I guess I have to agree? π€·ββοΈ
Here's a few shots from the last night of the reunion tour at Madison Square Garden, August 7th, 2008...
Yes Copernicus, criminals wear masks.
That's why we complain when our government is doing it.
Keep in mind, this is not about them not knowing the difference between right and wrong. They KNOW it is wrong.
They are just motivated by "How can I be an a**hole today?"
