How many landowners subject to IHT are farming themselves to produce the food?
Many people who inherit assets cannot pay IHT without selling it-I thought that was the point of IHT(not saying I agree with IHT in principle) I don’t think millionaire farmers should be exempt from taxes what others pay
I am sure GPs are going to take extra time to warm up too

Also in court GP maybe asked as to why their PA was working outside RCGP guidelines
Though the guidelines is not legally enforceable,I think supervising GPs should ignore it at their own peril
I think its only recently that medicolegal lawyers have taken notice &are touting for cases
And guess it depends on who the claimant lawyers decide to sue
For example when a salaried GP makes a mistake which is grossly negligent, the claimants may name both GP & the practice on the court filings. Do GP employers would always carry liability for this I think
So it would probably be decided based on case to case &so far no PAs have been taken to court despite it deaths from their clinical negligence in GP. I think once 1-2 cases go to court we will get more clarity
But GPs do ultimately take liability unless they can show the HCP was personally negligent
It’s NOT clear & MDO’s have been on fence to an extent
They have said any prescriptions you sign off you should be sure as that will be ur responsibility
And pointed to what GMC say about delegation saying u should be sure the HCP u delegate to is competent to do the task
I don’t understand why Farmers pay no inheritance tax in the first place
And if they are exempt why are others not, especially those who have worked hard to make their wealth & not been handed vast amount of land & no mortgage to pay etc
