Hon. Edward Cornwallis (1713-76)
Died #OTD 1776, Edward Cornwallis.
MP for Eye and Westminster, Cornwallis was a military officer involved in the suppression of the Jacobite Rebellion of 1745. He also served as lieutenant-governor of Nova Scotia and then Gibraltar, from 1762 until his death.
