Chapter one of book two from The Brothers Karamazov, βglory-holesβ is circled.
Saraβs update on The Brotherβs Karamazov: the glory-hole is not the same kind of glory hole I am more familiar with. according to the corning museum of glass, the phrase comes from glass blowing and the religious idea of glory not pervert origins although the glory-hole being in Fyodor's rat-infested home does make me think it referring to both blown glass and getting blown.
Saraβs update to the update of The Brotherβs Karamazov: scarr update: an edition with a different translator does not use glory-hole! from gutenbert.org, translated by Constance Garnett: "There were all sorts of unexpected little cupboards and closets and staircases." my edition, translated by Ignat Avsey: "It had many odd little rooms, glory-holes, and unexpected staircases. "
translation is entertaining as well! for instance, my edition of TBK used glory-hole which sent me on a spiral.
infinitely entertaining

I cannot put a book in a bag without the bag eating my book. like pages - missing. cover - ripped off. some pages look as though an angry animal chewed on them. thus, book sleeves.
three fabric book sleeves with bias tie tops; two sleeve have a purple floral design and the third is uses quilted squares.
here are a few of the sleeves I use (usually I make these and give them away to friends and coworkers)
