I really like the content I’ve seen of them so far, pleasantly surprised. The tea stuff and fighting shadows of themselves is great. I love when we first get into Voidstorm and some of the Void Elves go a little crazy and start laughing. Much better depiction of instability from the Void

After their Arcantina questline, they are my new favorite gay couple in Warcraft. Tehd is definitely trying to get Marius to admit he likes him. The domination spell line is awesome.

Voidstorm so far has done a great job diving deeper into Void Elves and their connection to the Void. The side quests I’ve done make me want to learn more, which I haven’t felt in awhile. Anyway, new mog for Velthas. HC he’s so steeped in Shadow that daylight hurts his eyes, hence the glasses.
It 100% is. This whole shtick of “one man vs whole leagues of soldiers/trained fighters” I feel caters to the demographic who answers any conflict with guns but crumble at the sight of real oppression and hardship. The type to think they’re a badass for yelling at a server.

GOD this just sucks so much. Someone commented on my forum post that maybe these Forsaken are offshoot fanatics like the Scarlet Crusade, but if that is the case Blizz hasn’t done nearly a good enough job showing this. Feels like I’m killing my own faction.

I *mostly* agree. I hate Calia and having her be a Light-infused “undead” on the council as a spokesperson so as not to spook the Alliance sucks so much ass. They do need to think of the Forsaken longterm and how that faction will continue, but I don’t trust the writers to do as you suggest -
Yeah tbh the whole war between them ending with Forsaken fighting to give them Gilneas back and there’s like no tension there… it sucked imo. Like ideally it’d be cool if they always had tension and a few NPCs here and there that got along
My fav race story is the tension between Worgen and Forsaken. Two monster races changed from circumstances outside their control. Two iconic horror monsters. Plus Horde v Alliance vibes. The new races just don’t compare, they have no real rivals for story
I’m fine with the Dead Scar regrowing but it’s a missed opportunity for the wildlife and plants there not to be darker, touched with necromancy and Shadow magic. Plants from the graveyard biome in the Alliance neighborhood would’ve been fine. Something to show the land is forever changed but healed.

…ew I hate this. Millennial cringe ass humor. As a kid when I played through Eversong I got the sense that the Blood Elves were slightly dangerous. The way they carried themselves, the VA, the menacing Fel crystals. It was cool. All that is lost in Midnight.
This one made me actually laugh with how simple it is. Like Blizz does not trust us at ALL
ALSO ALSO Sylvanas is most likely NOT welcome in Silvermoon anymore. So why shouldn’t the Forsaken, a faction who owes a lot to her, not put her stuff to use? They’re more related to who she is now than anyone else. The dungeon doesn’t even give a solid reason to kill them here aside from “looting”.
This coupled with the “banned” fel use on Murder Row makes me think they’re trying to write the Blood Elves to be just… more ignorant, racist and judgmental of non-Holy magics? Also as a Forsaken stan this feels like shit. Why wouldn’t some still like Sylvanas for her impact?
Just ran through the dungeon. Very… odd choice to have legitimate Forsaken forces (complete with banners and a Forsaken ship) as enemies here. They’re revering Sylvanas by collecting some of her stuff (literally zero nefarious plot mentioned) and we kill them for it? Like did Blizz think of a plan?
Wearing Forsaken armor, no less. No justified Shadow-using Horde here! No sir!
Unfortunately this won’t surprise anyone because anyone with elementary grade reading skills could see this from miles away. Blizz is inadvertently setting the Blood Elves, Turalyon etc up to look like fanatical idiots. If we get a good-aligned Shadow user besides Alleria it’s over for them.
Like multiple times in the story it is hammered into us that no cosmic force is inherently good or bad. It just *is*. Yet the Light users continue to deny this so much so that I feel Blizz is setting up a Light villain that is supposed to shock us.
Finished the campaign today. Overall I really enjoyed it. Biggest critique storywise is how pretty much all Light users are portrayed as pious, naive fanatics who assume they’re always in the right while literally everyone else repeatedly tells them “It’s not what you wield, it’s HOW”.
