The Vintage Habibi account belongs to our shop, which I am sharing with 3 Irish comrades and although they kindly offered it to me, I'm not going to use it and consent to being deplatformed by Bluesky for being Palestinian. Then I may as well go back to X (@Lexi3Alexander), which is just as racist but has 650 million users compared to Bluesky's 40 million. Last month Bluesky suspended Link, a Black disabled lawyer with a huge following...and his entire Bluesky community just continued using the platform as if nothing happened. I knew then that the white crypto fascists running these platforms are winning big time. We don't stick to the same principles online as we do in real life, because would you go back to a bar that kicked out your friend for being Black or Palestinian or disabled? I doubt it.

Until UpScrolled, the Tech For Palestine platform, has grown to a decent enough size where it can be our only platform, we need to stop acting as if we are dependent on the existing big social media platforms more than they are dependent on us. This is what BDS has been trying to teach people: the power of targeted boycotts. You don't refuse to participate in boycotting Adidas because Puma and Rebook are just as bad. Instead you decide which one is currently the worst offender and then as a group you boycott them until they adjust. That is literally how we got all three of these companies to adjust. Because if we let these white supremacist owned tech companies walk all over us...that is exactly what they will do...they'll drive all over us with a tank eventually, you've seen the images.
