i did a malwarebytes scan on my old pc which did pick up some stuff, but it didnt catch this file, was still just sitting there. definitely should backup your important files and do a full drive wipe/reinstall either way, i will be, but just thought i'd share.
always, always err on the side of caution. i've def had this type of scam thrown at me a few times before, but i let my guard down once and i really cant afford to do that nowadays. a lot of other people can get hurt in the process
i know i can't blame myself, but my heart goes out to everyone else having to deal with the bullshit after getting hacked or having a friend getting hacked or anything like that. it uh, seems like it's been a bit of a cascade effect...
