I can't remember exactly, but I think in the Wellesley/Bloor area.

Yes, the guess focus is a bit tricky. I only used Tri-X film and tried to shoot at f11 or f16. Closeup work was really hit or miss!
Toronto 1982
In my second year of studies at Ryerson I got a Rollei 35s, and it changed the way I took photos.

Toronto 1981
After a year under my belt in the big smoke, I felt a little more settled and Yonge Street (just steps from the Ryerson photography building) was ripe with photo potential.

Paris 1993
I spent about a week in Paris in 1993, on my way back to Nova Scotia after 6 years in Japan. I took the east to west route via the Trans Siberian Railway, and flew back from Paris. It's the first time I've seen these in 32 yrs!

Toronto 1980
Moving from Wolfville, NS to Toronto in 1980 to begin studies at Ryerson was a major turning point in my life. Getting used to city life was challenging, and I'm glad I had a camera to help me adapt to the new environment.

These days I'm not a fan of McDonalds, but when I was a teenager and fast food was a novelty in my life, I ate there as often as I could. So, there is a bit of nostalgia in these photos, and also an attraction to the design of the yellow M.

My Favourite Light
I first discovered this light in Halifax in 1980 (see first photo in set) and have been enamored with it ever since. Back light on pavement is my favourite light and works best when the pavement is wet.
