oh yeah, I played on Remastered. I otherwise would've used Primehack, but that does make me wanna do a run of the game on the original Gamecube controls, don't know if I'd regret that though.

Some of the missile and health expansions were fun, I liked them. To conclude my tangent and review, Metroid Prime 1 was amazing start to finish, even with the minor nitpicks I do have (other than Phendrana having no other ways to get in it), it made up for those and then some, it was nearly perfect

just upgrades, making it obsolete. Again, if you know the exploit the balance is decent enough but some beams felt better than others regardless. Same with the optional upgrades for each of them, I never felt like using the Flamethrower and rarely used the Wavebuster, the other two were good though.

The Artifact Hunt is a bit annoying but I had enough leftover knowledge to get most of them before they became a problem like in previous runs. The Beams are pretty cool, although the balance is kinda wacky. Unless you know the missile exploit with the Power Beam, the Plasma and Wave Beams are

Other than that backtracking feels as good as backtracking can be. As for other minor nitpicks, the Chozo Ghosts can be annoying up until you get the X-Ray Visor, they become fine after that but unless I'm not forced to fight them I just decided to ignore them.

The backtracking isn't too bad but having to go through Magmoor caverns when I wanted to get anything in Phendrana Drifts took a while, especially early on. It gets less annoying the more you do it but it's still something I'm not a big fan of, very happy Prime 2 fixes that issue.

I don't know what to say that hasn't been said already about this game, it's amazing, close to perfect, personally. The gameplay's good, atmosphere and the environments are all perfect, and most of the enemies are really fun to deal, being inoffensive at worst (most). Bosses were good too generally.

Metroid Prime 1 beaten. This specific run was ended at 70% completion with 13/14 Energy Tanks gotten, I have gotten runs above 80% in the past and do plan to do a 100% run eventually. Thoughts on game will be lower in this thread.

Pokemon Presents was cool, I’m unable to get Garchomp Z until a good while from now but regardless, usual TCG anniversary set, cool, and the starters, none of them click with me so far unlike the rest of the gens which have at least 1 that do, hoping we see the final evos soon to make my decision

The Kingston NV2 drive has been freezing up the computer - often for a minute at a time and sometimes indefinitely until a manual restart.

I'm replacing it with a Samsung 990 Pro, which should be more stable.

beat Samus Returns, was pretty good, big improvement from the original Metroid 2.
