Same director did the Minecraft movie, which probably explains a lot of that movie's sense of humor.

My own opinion on a game has changed drastically when I come back to it later, because I have more accurate expectations on what I'm getting into.

This can also work in reverse with old games if nostalgia has built the game up too much in a person's mind.

The other day I was thinking I'd like to make a horror dungeon crawler RPG that revolved around a cursed elevator. It's weird to see that concept already done and out on Steam.

I've heard so many stories of people with American health insurance flying to another country to get treated for something because it was drastically cheaper to take the international trip than to pay what American companies charge.

I'm obviously biased since I worked on them, but I think Cthulhu Saves Christmas (334 reviews) and This Way Madness Lies (187 reviews) are both great games.

Wow. It's like a joke at this point.

Very simple controls but extremely polished platformer that is all killer no filler. Fast and snappy and just a hoot if you like platformers at all. Very cute theme too.

Absolutely mad deal for three of the most exceptional game narratives ever written.

If you love tense storytelling with a hint of sci-fi/mystery and brain-bending puzzles, you absolutely need to play the Zero Escape trilogy.

Survival Horror Simulator - Turn-based game where you move through the rooms in a map, using limited resources to run from or fight off enemies so you can get the keys that lets you unlock more of the map.

Disagreed with your article. Yeah, the plot was dumb & contrived, but there isn't a RE plot that isn't. I liked the progression of how Leon saves Grace early on and Grace returns the favor later.

Also, Grace had less training than RE2 Leon while facing far scarier foes. We can cut her some slack.

I don't think it's unfair to assume that someone who is watching a speedrunning guide to a game that's nearly 25 years old should already understand the basic mechanics of that game.

Imma say it: most retro games back in the day were bad value compared to modern indie games. Crap graphics and sound and almost unplayable.

There were a few gems but yeah most modern games are way more playable.

Support indie devs.

RE5 is the worst main RE game. Yeah, co-op with a good friend even with a bad game can still be fun, but RE5 is racist, sexist, and the design is a huge downgrade from RE4.

RE6 is also a mess, but it's a more interesting trainwreck.

early on in anodyne 1's life a puzzle game dev vocally quit the 8-bit maze. 13 years later a user review said the game was mid but they loved the 8 bit maze. people will have preferences for different parts of your game. that's why metacritic 70-80 is god's territory while metacritic 90 is sloptown
