Cutting Federal Grants to Libraries and Museums Will Weaken Communities and Endanger Our Heritage
The Institute of Museum and Library Services provides crucial funding for irreplaceable community institutions and makes up a tiny fraction of the federal budget.
Thanks to the Institute for Museum and Library Studies, Civic Switchboard spurred public & academic libraries to improve access to data about community conditions and resources. IMLS cuts will be felt in communities around the US as libraries lose this critical support. @urbaninstitute.bsky.social
