From 17 Feb, Environmental Protection Agency supported radon monitors can be borrowed from Louth Libraries.

Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that can build up in homes and pose health risks over time.

Louth County Council hope to deliver Dundalk's first cost-rental homes in 2026 The issue was raised by Green Party councillor Marianne Butler

I asked at January’s Council meeting when Dundalk would get cost-rental homes. These homes offer secure rents at least 25% below market rates.

The good news is that Louth County Council are working on schemes, with real optimism for delivery in 2026. I’ll keep pushing to make it happen.

Councillor warns that major Dundalk roadworks may not be completed for 15 years as funding cuts announced Green Party councillor Marianne Butler warned said the Xerox to Greengates project may not be "looked at for 10 to 15 years".

Funding cuts to Active Travel mean major roadworks in Dundalk, including the Xerox-to-Greengates scheme, may be delayed for 10–15 years if investment isn’t restored.

I’m calling on Government, the National Transport Authority and our local reps to reverse cuts & unlock the funding needed for this.

I raised concerns at Louth County Council about continued use of X, following serious safeguarding issues linked to its AI tool, Grok. Until this is fully reviewed, I believe we must act responsibly especially when it comes to images of children and young people.

Some Louth council tenants owe as much as €59,000 as rent arrears crisis deepens Louth social housing tenants owe up to €59,000 in rent arrears in some cases, a local councillor revealed.

Engineers seek restoration of public transport spending priority Heavy reliance on private cars for travel cannot continue, Engineers Ireland warns

Engineers Ireland are calling for 2:1 spending on public transport to be brought back in to reduce congestion and car dependency.

It was introduced by the Greens and removed by FF & FG in this government resulting in delays to projects like DART+ and Luas Finglas.

I'm delighted to confirm that the long-vacant 3-acre site is now in Louth’s 3-year Capital Budget and is now earmarked for 43 new homes by 2028.

Legacy of Louth’s ‘ghost estates’ may still take another ten years to fix Dundalk was “disproportionately affected” by the legacy of unfinished estates after the Celtic Tiger era, according to a Louth councillor.

It is still a huge area of concern for people in Dundalk who are affected by this.
